one thing I love about the 54 square is the grind on the leading edge. Great for the low spinners.

I didn't think any club could be better than my 52 I got at the Oven, but this 54 is unreal. Really thinking hard about the 50, but I never use more then two wedges.
First couple of shots with the TS I was wishing I would've went SQ or DS, but after the bunker shots I'm glade I went TS! The engage sure spin a lot more then my Forged do.
I think the Engage wedges are night and day better than the Oven VR's. My wedge game has gotten noticeably better with these, and like you, I LOVE the 54 Square! Hope you end up liking them as much as I have been!
The Engage definitely spin more, so I might have to change balls. I always play V1's or platinum. Thinking about the Black or the 1X? You still gaming the X?
I think if nike would release the black dot my problem would be solved.
V1x. The dot ball is good.. but nothing that special. I think they should replace the Black with the dot and keep the platinum.

How do you like the 125's in your irons, can you compare them to the 120's?

No you didn't... :)

125 in the irons and wedges are simply perfect for me. DG-like, but smoother, and a bit softer in flex than DG X100, although that could just be the better feel I am sensing. I never feel like I need to jump on it with the 125s, ever. The 120's are really nice, but they felt a bit loose even in X flex. I have to make an effort to slow down to get them to perform well.

Hit the 3 hole practice loop pretty hard for 2 1/2 hours in the drizzle. I'm a really bad rain player, but tonight I really hit the ball well. I have my singles and doubles matches coming up. The engage wedges are money, plus they rusted up really good tonight. Did some more testing of balls with the Pro V, 1X, and platinum. The platinum came out on top again, but the 1X was no slouch.

I second this question. In my ball test the Platinum and I didn't get along in the short game, it played very differently than the Pro V1x and TP/TPx (among others). I also never really adjusted to the feel either (I've been playing the original Penta for ~5 years). I'd interesting in hearing your take on the Pro V1 vs V1x vs Platinum.

The platinum just feels really good to me. The spin is great. The 1X was inconsistent for me sometimes it was really long and others not so much. The 1X was the 2013 model. I'll pick up some new 2015's and give them a try.

The V1 just spins to much with the driver and irons, my miss with the V1 hooks off the planet. The 1X (2013) is a little harder feeling but keeps it line the best of the three balls for me. The platinum is In between the two. I could play any of them and I do, but right now the platinum is the head liner. I'll pick up a sleeve of the 1X (2015) today and report back. I really would like to try out the TP 's, but never had any luck since the TP red/black.

I really liked your ball test and that's what put the TP's and 1X back on the map

Found the 15s to be more durable in the Pro v1x. Not as durable as the Blacks though... But I'd rather take a softer cover. With the 1x I can get 12-14 holes out of it unless I'm hitting a lot of full wedges

found the same
I played a new V1x today for 15 holes, then dunked it on 16 and it was still playable
I tested it against the Black this year, and the V1x is just better for me
longer, spins more around the greens and durability is really good
its a more expensive ball, but they last longer so it washes out IMO

the other thing is i have been playing a version of the V1x for a few years, so I know ill never have to test a ball again
they make slight adjustments, but never enough to warrant a ball change

I hit both balls from the tee with the same club. Then I'd play best ball in from there the first time around the loop. Second time around I'd play worst ball in. Third time I'd play from various lies and bunkers. I made sure I hit at least 2 shots with every club.
I still couldn't get a clear winner after about 8 times around the loop. So then I decided to play 2 more times around using the same club off the tee for each ball and play in from there and may the best ball win. After the first 3 holes we are all square at -1. So this didn't really get me any closer to picking a ball. After the last 3 holes we ended up all square again-1. Now I'm getting tired and crabby, I get up at 4:00 am for work. I took the balls, my Rory, and engage wedges and played around the greens for about another hour.

Over the 5 plus hours of hitting balls, filling divots, raking bunkers, and fixing ball marks. I must of holed about a dozen balls today with the engage wedges and probably 6 a piece with each ball.

I think I could game either ball and really not miss a beat, I know I could. The platinum feels better of the putter. Distance would maybe go to the 1X. Platinum moves left or right a lot easer. Both balls are really solid around the greens with the 1X rolling out a little more, not really a bad thing with the engage wedges.
I'll put the 1X in play this weekend and see how it does before I make a final decision.

One thing for sure is the engage wedges are by far the best wedges I've ever played.

Sounds like you can't loose either way. My ball test actually went like this a little bit too. There were a few outliers that I really didn't like but, for the most part, it really came down to my preferences as far as feel and ball flight. For the most part, I could make all of the balls that I tested work for me with a few minor adjustments here and there to how I approached certain shots. In the end I did end up going with the current version of my previous ball (2010 Penta -> 2014 TP X). Play well this weekend!

The only problem with my testing is no pressure and no wind. My home course is a links style that's usually really windy.

I still want to give the TP's a shot, but I already have enough balls for the year.

Another Titleist! Gasp! Keep that up and you'll be getting a new username. I can see it now, MNTitleistGuy62144 (1 - 62143 are already taken)...

915F is a beast! The bag is never set!

I've always had and will have a soft spot in my heart for Titleist. Loving the FW and HYB, one of the best looking, feeling, and easy too use.
I try Ap2's every two years when they come out and they never make it half way through the season. I think the original Ap2's felt and worked the best. All the others didn't do it for me and I'd end up back with Nike. In September I know I'll try out the 716's, which I'm very excited about.

I have a deal w my buddy
once the season is over, my bag goes to his house for the winter
I don't play at all over winter much and If i do, I don't take my regular bag to the dome, I take an old TA2 6 & 9i and some worn out Vokey's
I too have a soft spot for Titleist clubs, so w the 716's coming out ...... uuuggghhhh

but honestly, whats in my bag now is working really well
especially the hybrid, wedges and putter
