After his press conference on Tues or Wed I knew there was no chance he makes the cut. Calling the rough "weeds" and generally talking himself out of being competitive this week. Can't say I'm surprised.

I like almost all of the guys on tour. I can't handle Bubba. Hypocritical and just rubs me as a bad dude in general.

I caught a few holes of his on Thursday and he gave off the vibe that he wasn't going to make it. He doesn't strike me as someone who deals well with adversity, or really, anything.

I love how, when I scrolled down through the posts, jmvargas posts has an oakley ad with Bubba next to it in my feed. Even when you try to knock him down, he's making money. In all honesty, I thought Bubba's strategy was dumb even before the open started. I play at a course with a lot of sandy natural areas and they're not nearly as penalizing as people think they are.

Edit: The first post also has that Bubba ad, at least for me.

In Bubbas defense, on the few holes I watched him play on TV, there were at least two clouds moving in the background that I am certain were disruptive. I am talking fairly large white fluffy cumulonimbus clouds too, not just some small whispy cirrus clouds. And these large clouds were moving several knots. Had to be nearly impossible to hit a small green under those conditions.

He plays professional golf for a living. Has won the Masters twice. Is financially secure. Flies to tournaments in a private jet.

I do my best to avoid "negative" threads like this however when it comes to Bubba I have no qualms ripping him.

He's not failing or anything, but he's someone to root against, and I think that's ok. I'm not rooting for him to be homeless or injured, but I'm good when he loses...

I'll only root for him in the Ryder. I rooted for Larry Bird in the Olympics too (even though I hated him as a Laker fan).

At the end of the day he's a tool, imo.
