The Bubba Missing the Cut Appreciation Thread

The Bubba freak show works well sometimes, not so well other times. He can certainly do things that few, if any, others, and certainly not me, can do, but I just don't find it attractive to watch. Sorry. Nothing against people with faux attention deficit disorder.

The absolute best part about these threads are all of the hollier than thou "disgrace to golf" cry babies in them.


Pretty simple really, people can't stand Bubba's behavior and do not like to watch him berate, humiliate, and rip his caddie, give fans the death stare, make excuses for any and every shot that didn't go in, and overall just be rude and unappreciative. He is a shallow, egotistical cry baby. I watched his press conference before the tournament, and he made a few really condescending, arrogant, asinine remarks to a couple of reporters. The guy is a prik, end of story.

As for the charity, it is pretty dang clear to anyone that Ping donated $250,000 and Bubba had very very little to do with it. Ping allowed Bubba an opportunity to improve his image, I would imagine for a reason. Had Ping not chose Bubba, they would have just as easily made the same exact donation using another one of their players like Westwood or Mahan but those guys do not need any help in the PR department because people do not detest their attitudes and behavior on the golf course. Ping would have donated the $250,000 with or without Bubba, so in the end, who is really responsible for the charity, PING obviously.

As for his caddie, he has threatened Bubba to quit on more than one occasion and I am betting one of these days when he has enough money and another bag to carry he will do just that.

Rickie is always super kind to his fans and stays upbeat and positive. Pretty much a consensus that he is one of the nicest guys out there.

I'm not getting into the Bubba thing. I'm not a fan of his and don't mind not seeing him on the weekend, but that's not my point.

These donations and foundations, and all the accolades that the golfers receive for them. I ask myself one question. If there were no tax benefit to the golfer, would he be doing it?

Personally I don't see anything wrong with not liking a professional athlete and rooting against them, it's natural and happens all the time just as we have our favorites that we root for.

How you choose to express those feelings is debatable. I certainly wouldn't go to a tournament with a "I hate Bubba" tee on.

Excellent point Sawgrass, can you imagine the nuclear fit Bubba would have thrown, as I am sure it wouldn't have been his fault. Like I said earlier, Ping needs to improve Bubbas' image and not Hunters for a reason. They call it character.
