That's what I thought, so I thought I would pass on the info. I have hit the PCs, but have not seen the Speed irons, so I would go by his recommendation. The guys that hit the Speed irons may think differently.

From what I have seen and hit, the Speed long irons look more like a 712u-ish shape. For me, I play the 712u in my 3 and 2 irons so it was perfect and they performed amazingly well. The PC's have a much thicker top line than last year's model so I think it would "blend" okay.. I don't care as much about how my set blends in the top part of my bag, I care more about the transition from say a 8 iron in a blade to a 7 iron in a PC. Long irons you should be fine, and the performance of the Speed irons really stood out to me.[/quote]

It's good info for sure. Just depends on where you are looking to incorporate the Speed irons. I use the 2 and 3 irons like utility irons since I don't get along with hybrids, the Speed line is a great option here!

I loved the VPC long irons, but I thought I might try the 3/4 for a little more forgiveness, but like I said, they recommended that I did not do that. So I went with 4-pw and I have my 712U for my 3 iron.

Yeah. That's probably the best idea. I ordered mine from DD's and Adam recommended not blending the Speed and PCs, he said the heads were much larger. I told him I had the CF irons and said I wasn't a fan of the long irons, he told me if that was the case then I would not like the Speed long irons. Just passing along the info I got.

I was told the same thing. I'm just going to wait until I see them in person and make my decision on how I want to blend my set. I was originally thinking 4 & 5 Speed irons but maybe I'll go just 4 iron. End of the day probably a smarter move to hit them in person anyways before making an impulse buy

If that's the case, you might want to seriously consider the Speed in the 3 iron.

I'm a low ball hitter so the Speed irons made sense. Supposedly very easy to launch. Hopefully I'll find out in a week or so.

I will mix them up for now, 4-6 Vapor Pro Combo and 7-PW Proto.

I did hit a great 4 iron shot with the Pro on Sunday. That'll happen rarely, for now the Cavity back's will help me.

That is surprising. Yes, the Speed is a larger head, but I think they blend nicely with the VPC. I might not go past the 6 iron if you are looking to blend the set, but that is because I prefer a more "blade like" look to my lower irons. I actually put the Speed 4 and 5 in my bag today to play (I was using the VRS Forged 4 iron and PC '14 5 iron) and did not notice a large gap between my old 5 iron and my 6 iron (VR Pro). Definitely hit them in person though as each person is different.

Do you mean the Driver or irons? I can give you an iron review, but the drivers are not released yet to test and give feedback. I have seen them, but can't take them out. Probably looking around January before you see a lot of feedback (aside from those invited to hit them).

The Vapor Speeds are stupid easy to hit. They are longer standard than the Pro or PC model (+1/2") so keep that in mind when ordering. They launch high for a stronger lofted iron (44*pw) but do not balloon and are pretty easy to work. The size of the head sits between the AP1 and AP2 model and has the same offset as the VPC's with a slightly larger topline. My big negative with the Speed set is that they have a .370 tip diameter whereas the VP and VPC have .355, so matching shafts can be tricky. Below I am posting some pictures I have posted either earlier in this thread or in another thread. Sorry for the bad photos but hope they can answer some questions about size between the models.

Most likely going the same route. On the fence btw Speed 3 and Flex hybrid. The Flex looks great and it's hard to beat the versatility of a good hybrid. Soo much easier to hit out of the rough than a 3 iron.

Can't wait for my guy to get the fitting gear in. Hurry up already!!

I went DG PRO X100 hard stepped once, I play c tapers in my mp54s now and I figured if I didn't like the dg pros I could always swap them. I actually got better numbers on the flight scope with the dg pro then I did with my ctapers. It was also nice that it saved me $200.

Nice. That's really good to hear. I currently play C Taper S in my Covert Forged and really like them. I've done a lot of expensive trial by error with shafts over the last few years. But I have never hit the DG Pro. Hoping for similar results as you once I get the chance to test them out. Would prefer to save that money for the new woods I'll be buying in February. Haha.

My local place that does outdoor trackman fittings doesn't have them yet.
