SLDR

just could not get it to work for me.

So is that the only driver you've ever hit?

It might not be for you....but I seriously doubt you haven't hit worse. There's a lot of crap out there and the SLDR isnt one of them.
I also thought the SLDR was absolute crap. It had a tin can feel and no forgiveness.

I would say the worst overall has been about anything Nike. They just suck.

I recently hit the demo Ping G30 and, to me, it sucked too. Terrible sound, feel and performance. I know some people love it though.

More recent, the SLDR. I tried different shafts, lofts, etc and it didn't work for me.

Quite a sampling of generally well regarded drivers there. If I couldn't find one of those to love I might start looking at my swing.

Back in the 1990s I hit a Wilson Invex driver. John Daly used it when he won his British Open and it is undoubtedly the ugliest club I have ever seen. You feel like you are on acid when you look down at it. Google image search the club if you are unfamiliar with it and enjoy the pics of John's glorious blonde mullet along with it.

Yup. The INVEX was the Worst driver design ever... followed by the HIPPO HEX.

But...but...it got 25/25 stars in GD! Kinda surprised the SLDR has been mentioned as many times as it has. I have hit it and didn't care for it but I am seriously considering the SLDR mini.

For me it was the Hibore. Honestly I loved the Sq squared and sometimes wish I never got rid of it. Loud? You bet. Ugly? For sure. But it was a fairway finder for me. A few other people mentioned the Firesole as their dud and I loved that one too. Won a few long drive scrambles in the two years I had it.

This is a really interesting thread. I never thought I would see Ping and Titleist on here, let alone as many times as they are on here, and newer models too! I know I am biased but really liked anything Titleist and Ping have put out when I've found the proper shaft for it.

Really just goes to show you that different swings like different things. Not surprised by the SLDR being on here a ton though. I've see guys in the 5 cap and below segment have great success with it, but everyone I know above that range who has purchased it has returned it, and most of these guys were playing 8 year old drivers prior to the purchase.

hands down callaway ft-3 draw. i have played a push draw for quite some time, and the golftech fitting i paid for at golfsmith put me into this club. hook city. lost all confidence in my ability to drive the ball. still searching for said confidence.

I'm going to go with worst driver I've owned in the last 5 or 6 years. Before that, I don't even really know what I had, but I'm sure some of it sucked worse than what I'm about to say.

I was super excited about the R11S. I bought an R11 used the year it came out and was just crushing it. I figured that the new one must be good, right? Ended up selling my R11 and bought an R11S new. Hated everything about it. Seriously, one range session and it was gone. The sound was awful, I probably hit 40-50 balls with it and NONE of them were as good as a below average drive with my R11. This actually may have started my ho'ing. Sold the R11S the next day and moved onto something else.... and then something else... and on and on. Probably 30 drivers since then (October/November 2012 I think).

I know it has lovers on here but I had a Callaway RFE and barely ever hit a worthwhile shot with it. I loved the look of it and still think it's one of the best looking drivers I've seen. It's fairly easy to change the shaft on it; and I did - several times. But we were incompatible....I generally drive the ball pretty well and I don't think I've ever drawn a blank on a driver quite so emphatically. Horses for courses.

I was stationed at Tampa's county sheriff's office in March this year and decided to hit the nearby range with a driver I found for 5 bucks at the play-it-again sports store. Long story short, the driver made giant sparks fly off the face every time I hit the ball. Whatever club that was... that one.
Callaway Biggets Big Bertha would do that. Noting to do with the club but in high school I paid 5 bucks for a First Flight wooden driver that was huge for the time. I am guessing the swingweight was E something and that was why it was five bucks. I don't remember much good or bad but even for 30 years ago an E swingweight had to be bad

I was going to say the Callaway C4, but that actually performed ok (but only JUST ok) for me, but the feel was horrid. For me, the worst performer was a Callaway FT-5 iMix. Man, I had just a bunch of baffling, HUGE misses with that thing, I mean like 75 yards in either direction. Crazy. May have also been the Fubuki shaft. I tried a Fubuki in an original R9, and hated it in that as well, but it wasn't as bad as in the Callaway. Due to those two experiences, I've not even LOOKED at Callaway equipment in years. Although, I do still have my trusty old Callaway Hawkeye Pro Series 8.5-degree, with oldschool Aldila Blue shaft. LOVED that driver. It's been sitting in the garage for several years, but I'd bet I could put it in the bag tomorrow, and it would be just fine.
