Tm r7 Limited...spiny and terrible.
wow, the R7 limited is the only semi modern day club that I have really liked. Maybe its the shaft (Matrix X-CON 5.5). It felt even better than my old Adams Speedline. Heck, I should have kept my old Burner Bubble with fireblade sole.

Adams Speedline LS. That thing would go a mile so long as I found the pea sized sweet spot. If not...no go.

Orlimar TriMetal.

Really great looking driver but the thing netted terrible results.
I agree the driver was not good, but the 3 wood was awesome, I don't know how they could be so different....
Agreed, the 3w was very nice.

Dead on Mike. The 3W was money - I actually had so much confidence in it that I used it off of the tee instead of the driver. Just could not seem to find the "sweet spot".
I had the 16* BTW - really liked that club. Sold it to a buddy for $100 when it was almost 2 years old. He was pounding it one shot after another on the range and asked if I would sell it. Thinking he was joking I said sure, for $100. And he paid me.

Rbz tour tp. I loved the performance but it was so loud. Played one round with my wife with it and she said to return it because her ears rang from the cart. This could have been one of my favorites if I had hot melted it
Got mine hotmelted - worked like a champ. And once it is toned down that thing really is a beast. I still alternate mine into the bag!

I second the R7 Limited as bad. Spun like a top and lost nearly 100 yards with it on average. Changed out the Matrix shaft to something else and it was not any better. However my FT5 I-mix with a Matrix X-CON 6 was amazing and one of my favorite drivers in the past 10 years, so I think it was TM's fault for producing such a bad driver, not Matrix.

I also had a Cobra F Speed 10.5° that spun as bad like the R7 Limited even with a Aldila Protopype shaft (Aldila's lowest spinning shaft at the time).

ditto...I have both a 15* and 21* Olimar that I forgot about. I wouldn't give them up for anything, just have not used them in awhile. Picked both up at a veterans' star for a couple of bucks each.

For me, the worst driver I ever owned (been playing golf and ho'ing equipment since 1996).................... The TaylorMade R1... it sucked for me. I tried multiple shafts, grips, weights, for weeks. Never liked the feel of it or performance. I once owned a Goldwin and an Invex driver... it was worse than those in my opinion.

I hate to be seen as one who jumps to conclusions, but it is disheartening to me to read all the recent reviews regarding various TM products. All of their marketing harps on this or that being the greatest revelation, then shortly thereafter after the honeymoon is over, the negative reviews start coming in. Coincidence? I really do not know, but I have seen it now regarding several, not-with-standing that each might simply stand alone as to one persons experience and not applicable to the line in general. Lets hope not.

Another vote for the Orlimar Tri-metal driver. I guess if I was under some trees and wanted to hit a 150 yard low duck hook, then it would have been great. That's all that ever came off the face of that club.

Man, I can't believe all the Nike Sumo 5900 hate. Still maybe the straightest driver I've ever had. I am partially deaf because of the thing, well that and the Kiss concert in the early 90s.

Great thread.

I probably already replied to this before. The worst driver I've owned was the King Cobra Offset Titanium driver from 1998, paid full retail back then). A close second, maybe first, is a Taylor R11 3W, (I know, not a driver). But, if a three wood is this bad, I'm certainly glad I didn't buy the driver.

Every shot off that 3W goes left, (I'm LH), not a slice, just left. Hits towards the toe, no matter what setting. Never had any driver or wood go straight left. Don't like the sound or feel. Like hitting rocks. R11 builds no confidence.

I am surprised no one has mentioned the TM Superquad. Didn't it cost $599 or so when it came out? What an overpriced POS - and I loved the original R7 driver :)

In recent years I have only really hit Titleist drivers and while not awful the 907d2 and 909d3 were less than spectacular.

The 1st nike sumo square was the shortest driver ever...
I bought a Cleveland Hi-bore xls and there was a dead spot on the face. All balls hit above the middle of the face sounded horrible and went nowhere...

I had the Orlimar 3 wood first, and loved it. I thought, I gotta try the driver, if it is anything like the 3 wood it will be great..... Hit a demo and took it on the course, I thought, WTF? Is this a counterfeit or something, I can't hit this at all...

And I also don't get the hate for the Sumo 5900, It was the straightest driver I ever hit. Not the longest, probably a good 5 to 10 yards shorter than what I was playing otherwise at the time, but it was a fairway finder. I was just getting back into some statewide competitive tournaments that year I had it, with it the the bag, and the confidence of finding more fairways under pressure was a real benefit. Plus, I could even hit it off the deck, I can't do that with any other 460cc driver.

Original nike 275/350 blue driver - just plain garbage
Definitely the worst driver I've ever swung.

I still have the 275 version of this. It has a rifle steel 7.0 and is silly long.

For me, the S9-1 pro D was probably the worst I have hit.

Without any hesitation, that would be the First Srixon Z-Star adjustable driver. It even came with an operator's manual.

One of the very few GolfWRX Driver Reviews I ever wrote.

That was the day I divorced Srixon/Cleveland.

I still have the Z-Steel Fairway Woods in my bag, but they came long before the Z-Star.

Although, let's be fair, I still have Srixon balls in play, and still buy them...But, nothing else.

Fun Topic. Purchased a Cleveland Tour Action Titanium; just hideous and I believe it was defective. I would have returned it, but GS left town right after I got it. When they came back two years later, I tried to return it and they just laughed. Got even a few years later when Phil won the 2010 Masters. My brothers and I all got new Cally drivers thanks to Phil, Cally and GS.

Second worst was the square Nickent 3DX, hit it 3 times with the plastic on and that was it. Just the most horrific sound ever. What kook started that square driver craze anyway? Somehow on trade in I got the same amount as I paid.
