While I love my mb 712s :-) , I'm being drawn to a set of mizuno mp64s with dg x7

 

Pretty unreal combo. Buddy of mine on WRX plays them with the MP4 for 8-PW, pure butter and perform as good as anything.

 

How do u like the mb 716? Had u hit those vs the 712/714 , they look like the fabled 680

That was also my thing with Mizuno in the past. The MP4 scoring irons were an improvement over prior MP series.

 

I haven't had extensive use of the 712/714, just the off demo. The 680-esque look of the 716 is what drew me to them. But it was mostly just to blend them with the TMB, which I love.

 

If I was playing a full bag of blades it would be MP4 or MP4/MP64 blend. I could go back and forth between the MP4 and 716MB, but for a full set I'd probably go MP4.

 

Basically the only reason I'm not playing mizuno is I love the TMB's and want to keep the same brand for all irons.

I have a copious amount of hot melt in the 716 tmb to up the sw after the shaft change , so much so it was pushing back out the port, that tmb now feels like a mizuno mp4

Only tough part is I don't think I can get the 4's to combo, though I can get a set of 64's new for 6 bills

Maybe in their signature line. You can always call and check. They're super easy to deal with. Do NOT go for the 5s in the scoring irons. WAY too big.

Put the SFTP 2.0 LCG back into the bag. But reshafted with a fujikura Pro 83x Tour Spec

Just assembled a abtp prototype 8.5 head with a fuji pro tour spec 83x, very anti left 1900 - 2300 spin

 

Performs like a 2016 m2 , abtp Porto about 100 rpm higher spin, launch 1-2 lower

You'd be doing yourself a disservice to not at least wait to see what the new MP blades look like. I like my 716s a lot but I'd need to hit the new Mizzy blades before I bought them again. And I feel like I've said it a lot but the only reason I'm playing the 716MB is to match the T-mb long irons. Full set of blades goes to the MP4 every day at this point. Full set of 4's with X7's, can't get much more pure than that.

ADDI ' s have been the go to shaft for awhile, I like the smooth feel etc, HOWEVER, fujikura is back sans the 2i, that thing hits so good it should be illegal for me to fiddle with hit

 

Fujikura Pro Tour Spec 83x in the driver , had been using 44.5" but now going with 45" and finding more consistency than ever

This is where the for me the real delta was in shafts - in the 3w application, the ADDI 9x vs the Rombax P95X, with the P95x the 3w is a long range laser guided weapon.

Anyone have a new model , big $$$ set up and have it beat by something far less cheaper ???? YEP check that box for the Dr.

 

Had an 16' m1 , 16 M2 ( probably a hair longer than my current set up but not as accurate, and a bit higher launching ) , bring in the ABTP Proto tour issue head..... currently bagging , 8.5* 2.5 open, 5 g of hot melt in the toe with the Pro TS 83x in it , head 100$ shaft 150 ish, 250 vs my M2 500 and +350 for the ADDI in it.

 

ABTP PROTO 9* (8.5*)

171 MPH BS , 2200 ~ spin , 10-11* LA , but straight to a slight fade consistent ball flight **** WHICH IS CRITICAL FOR ME, where driver has been such a weakness , I am gaining more confidence off the tee.

 

AND AS ALWAYS - good ole back up, SFTP LCG (V3) shafted up with the a PRO 83x TS

Reason , when i learned to play , was taught young and didn't pick it up again until 25.

 

First golf club was with a Cut down McGregor 5 iron blade when I was waist high , probably CPM at like a 400 or rebar , and weighed in north of a sledge hammer
