Really liking this bag

Titleist staff stand vs sun mountain xcr

Staff stand - hindden leg mechanism huge plus

Staff stand - better handles

Staff stand - slightly smaller than xcr

Staff stand - magnetic range finder pocket immensely functional

Staff stand - zippers are higher quality, operate with less pull force

Got a ad di 9x on order for the driver

9x in the driver. I'm very interested to see how that goes.

Got the ad di 9x installed yesterday

Raw was ~ 266 cpm wt = 97g

Tipped it roughly 2" to 295 , plays 280 at 44 - 7/8

Vs ad di 8x , about 10g heavier static club weight , **interesting the swing weight was the same @ d3**

Follow up

Have this shaft in my three wood, and my simpleton philosophy , it was good enough for the 3, good enough for the big dog. Played with it yesterday, only hit driver twice, very short course driver was over kill on all but two holes

found the 9x to be

Very Stable

Vs the 8x , I like the lower torque in the shaft

The weight was NOT considerably heavier, smoothed out my tempo , Ball Flight was straight to a power fade, which from the driver I would like

Summary - I feel after looking at the New AD Tour TP 8x (TX) , which IMOP has the specs of a AD DI 9x , 2.6* (9x is slightly higher weight at 97g , the AD Tour 8x is ~87 ) , I like the 9x; though I feel i need to go to some sort of rehab for liking a 9x in the driver, granted my irons are heavy shafted @ 135g , and learn to play with heavy equipment and at 240 6'3, not a small dude, albeit I think a new AD Tour TP would get it done also , 80g with a low torque is the ticket

Going to keep the 9x AD DI - oh yeah, Virginia Tech Hokies Orange!!!!!!!

Gripmaster

Never had one (full disclosure, I am an admitted serial putter gripper) love my bb8 tri sole with a passion but searching for a grip

Putted well with ; pingman , iomic, lamkin crossline cord , deep etch cord , super strokes are terrible for me

This grip master caught my eye for whatever reason; additional what surprised me , no loss of swing weight vs the Bettinardi version of the pingman

*note* serial putter gripper

practiced about 1.5 hrs putting with this grip master midsize yesterday

- my putting style is open and close , while a mid sized it still allows this action

- the feel is smooth like leather in a foreign sports car

- even with its size there is still great feed back through the putter grip

- swing weight (348g head ) at 34.5" is e0

- I prefer ping man type grips , long putts and med range ping man is perfect, my lag putting is great, but the short puts in an event I get shakey , this feels much more secure

Only time , putts per round , and performance in events will tell

Quasi major changes

New driver shaft ( my current unicorn is the ad di 9x - fairway finder). Testing a ad tp 8tx - albeit the 9x in the driver is heavy @ 356 g

46 / 52 / 58 New wedge set up to better fit 100 - 115 yd gap -an all out 60* vs 3/4 58* better control spin

Based on wedges , irons 1* strong , 17 vs 18* 2i , 30 vs 31* 6 iron

Still struggling to pick my grip of choice over lap vs interlock

96 -97 mph 6i trackman x100 - with dgx7 I get about another mph club head speed

X100 mp18 , 32* 6i

Low to mid spin - 6000 to 6370

Very tight dispersion

Flight is awesome , this six iron has with limited testing been the best to flight , can get it from 80ft to 120ft

185 to 203 yes depending on what I want to do with it

And most importantly that buttery mizuno feel

Note the demo club with the adjustable shafts don't do the heads justice

You monster. I take it they don't make a 9X in the TP for you to try against your DI 9X?

Money looking set!

Congrats!

Just out of curiosity, what handicap do play too?

A 10 , irons are my best clubs in the bag esp the long irons: driver gets me in trouble :-(

I don't play and practice enough anymore

my big outstanding question is do I put in DgX7's ; In one way I love the solid feeling the X7 gives me, and to hit that 6th gear, really stomping on one. Albeit ; played x100s for years (and still are relevant , just look in some PGA tour bags ) , the x100s allow me a little more shot manipulation, other than balls out iron shots.

I'm torn , like any other WRX'er, the urge to to tinker

Nice bag for sure! I miss my deep face M2.

If you throttled those shafts down about 3 flexes, I could game it! I'm this close to grabbing some MP18's, but I'm debating shafts too. (CTL X-Stiff vs Modus 120X)

I know you've thought of this, but just have your 6 or 7 iron reshafted with the X7. You can test that to know if it works better for you.

For the record, I have never done this and always have the whole set done...for better or worse!
