My Vapor Pros have tour V in X flex. It's a great shaft. I previously played them in my VR Pro blades. Ball flight is slightly higher than X-100's, but it's a flat trajectory with very controlled spin (down from 6000 with the DG to 5400-5500 with the Tour V). I'm getting about 1/2 club more distance than my old irons with the same specs and a tighter dispersion.

Anyone fancy shipping a set of 4-PW Vapor Pro heads to the UK?
I wouldn't mind. Are you looking for heads only?
Hey, thanks for getting back. I'm gonna buy some Nippon Modus 125 shafts to put into them and I was thinking it would be cheaper to just have the heads shipped over with maybe some original ferrules. What do you think is the best option?

Cheers
Craig
I think you're going to have to buy the entire set with shafts; I don't believe you can buy the heads only. So maybe find someone who wants the shafts then have them pulled and split the goods.

This is puzzling because S300's are around 130 grams, while the Modus are around 115 grams. It seems like a big enough jump that you'd be able to feel the difference in shaft weight. Perhaps it just comes down to swingweight too?

For those that have ordered VPC long irons (4-6,7) and Pro short irons (7,8-P), are you happy with that decision? Would you do it differently if you could do it over? Sufficient forgiveness with the Pros? I'm trying to decide whether to stick with VPC 4-P or go with Pro 8-P.

Also, for those that have VPC through wedge, what are your thoughts? Are you guys happy?

Just want to make sure I end up with short irons that I can flight and shape as needed. Unlike the Covert Forged, which know only one flight, high and straight..

I love these irons and tried every one in the line I just couldn't find one that fit me I mean it is mind boggling, thank God for playability garuntees! So I found a demo set of covert 2.0 forged irons (my favorite irons ever) and it is a night and day difference. I went from hitting 25% of greens with the entire vapor lineup to 60% with the covert 2.0 forged. I don't understand it but I love everything about the vapor irons except I can not hit them!?! I'm a 10 handicap I can hit any iron relatively good it's like a joke I haven't shot in the 90's or shanked a ball in 3 years, no lie. I couldn't hit an iron shot solid with the vapors if my life depended on it I switch back to the coverts and boom shoot an 80?!? oh well i guess if it ain't broke don't fix it

I went VPC 4-6 and VP 7-pw. I find them to be perfect in that set up for me. VPC are very easy to hit the shots I need to but, I can just put a good swing on them and get consistent results. The VP are easy to manipulate if necessary or that particular type shot is called for, but are still quite forgiving to me. I have played the original VPC with the blades in the short irons and the Maxfli A10 Tour Limited with the same progression, so doing a set like this isn't too far from those, but the VP are more forgiving than a true blade IMHO...although, if push came to shove, I could play an entire VPC set and not blink twice either, the VPC are that good.

Covert forged are a great iron. If they were in lefty I'd have a set and never look back. But the vapor PCs are a good substitute :)

Thanks for the feedback guys.

Still deciding between Modus 120X or my trusty, go to C-Taper S ssx1. Prefer 120g shafts.

I have 5-P and very happy with the set makeup. The short irons are very easy to control. And I'm learning to chip with the 9 and PW which is something I couldn't do with the VRS Forged. They were too hot off the face for me to use around the greens.

I am dying to get mine although the forecast looks nasty. I wish I could give you all a review against something more current but I've been playing well with the vR Pro Cavity. Distance wise I really like them so if the VPC is close, I will be happy. I went 1 degree strong in VPC but I think the pro cavity is still a degree stronger than that. I'll keep you posted.

The VR Pro is definitely the softer of the two heads but the turf interaction is better for me, especially in this soft Florida turf. The two irons are very similar in performance. The Vapors just offer a little help, where the VR Pros did not.

Yeah the Vapors are D2.5 and the Cobras are D3. with their stock shafts.

I didn't check the swingweight in my Vapor set once they arrived with the Modus 120 I just new I liked them and I hated how light the Cobras felt.

I definitely have read it here. And the Nippon love fest thread. I'm sure they are incredible shafts. My only concern is having gone through many iterations of expensive trial and error with iron shafts, I don't want to go through another round. I "stumbled" upon C-Tapers looking for a few extra grams coming from PXi 6.0 and have been happy. Actually I think going to C-Taper S ssx1 would be perfect for me. With the Modus 120's, it seems that would translate to the 120X either straight in or ssx1.

What were you playing before the Modus? Are you playing 120X straight in?

I was playing ctaper S+ SS 1x and went Tour 120 TX straight in. As smooth as my ctaper's and lowered my flight by about 2*. better dispersion and feel amazing.

and I LOVE my Ctaper. ...never thought I'd find something I liked better. now both sets of irons have them and WV 125's in the wedges too!!

I will say that even though I am not a player who can flight or shape on demand (I can try and succeed sometimes), I have been happy with the vpc 7-aw. All of them I have been able to hit lower or higher and I have had a few move left or right for me (again not a great swinger so may or may not have been on purpose haha but it does occur sometimes when I try)

Forever Changing at this point.......

In prepping my order I was comparing specs on these and some other clubs (including my current i20's), and noticed that Nike appears to be .25" long from standard (while Ping is .25" short) i.e. a Ping 5i is 37.75", Titleist 38" and Nike 38.25". Has anyone else noticed and is there a reason for this? I was planning to adjusting length -.25", but now I'm thinking it might be wise to go -.5" since I generally am fit for standard or a quarter short.

Nike is pretty much standard Callaway length, NIKE measures different...ordered stock and it was same length in both the VPC an VP with my APEX/Apex Pro set..

Not certain about the others but the Nike VPC at stock length are the equivalent to Ping at a quarter inch over.
