1st world problems annoyance of the day. FedEx had my "new" driver in Rockville since yesterday morning, but didn't deliver it then or today because it's "not due for delivery". If it gets delivered tomorrow I'll have received the service I paid for, so I shouldn't be able to complain about that, but yet I am. It seems odd that they are intentionally withholding it because of that. Never had that happen with UPS or USPS, or at least they didn't so openly tell me about it.

Never tried this but I wonder if you went in and changed the delivery instructions to "Hold at FedEx" could you then go and pick it up and they'd have to release it to you? Or would they still hold the package hostage?

Doesn't Golfer827 drive for FedEx? Maybe he can shed some light on it

I rarely drink while I play but … GTW3: Your score is Raw Score - Course Handicap – Beers consumed (apply the strokes based on handicap hole if playing a match): What would your score be? Who on here would be the favorite? I’m taking a guess from what I’ve read that VTNerf and Eagle would do well in this competition.

One time for 9 holes my scores got adjusted to: two eagles, three birdies, three pars, one other (made an 8 on the second hole of the nine). 10 drinks in 9 holes. Potentially excessive. 18 holes is way more of a sprint than 9 holes is. I figure I’d be somewhere in the mid to upper 60s. Something like 82 – 7 – 10 or 84 – 7 – 12 seems about right.

Being on break, I think I can shed some light.

By driver discretion, if a piece is not due that day then the driver may keep it 'under the belt' as a No Attempt/Not Due. The exception would be if there are other pieces going to your house/business/etc. Then it is good practice to take every item and van scan it for delivery that day. Monday's are different and it is encouraged you only take Monday freight as so you're not out too long. At least, this is the case for Hagerstown.

If you wish, you COULD write down the Airbill number and go to the Station and pick it up tonight, as I think Rockville closes at 7-ish. Bring I.D. the Airbill # and you should be good to go once they find it.

Our station does deliver to Martinsburg, West Virginia. I bet I could tell you the driver for your location as well.

btw, i can't tell you how much i love this. i'm keeping a 2MT-score from now on. brings my 86 gross score at oak creek down to a 2MT-Net 72. tidy.

The problem is when you introduce the concept and add competition it gets out of hand. We had a guy chug four crown and diets on the first tee. He didn't understand that all four (eight) drinks would not be applied to the first hole. He was later on his hands and knees puking in the rough and then hit a wedge from 90 yards on to the green when we were still putting. He skulled it and it hit someone in the ankle. The next year two guys flipped a cart ... On level ground. Just bad stuff.

I'd come in dead F'ing last in a 2MT scored event. I'm a lightweight in general, and basically any amount of drinking causes a total implosion of my golf game.

#TEAMLIGHTWEIGHT

I can't recall ever having more than 1 beer during a round. Playing under the influence is just not my thing. And I haven't gotten really loopy in a long time anywhere much less on a golf course.

if you two ever decide to have a 2MT heads-up competition, please please please let me be in that foursome.

i think there'd have to be ground rules.

1. no more than 1 beverage per hole average can be deducted (18 max)

2. participants must be carpooled home (no exceptions)

3. sleeping or puking results in a 5 shot penalty

4. cigars count as 1/2 drink, 1 full drink if it's a churchill or greater

5. all beverages must be sipped - no chugging

6. 1 liquor-based beverage = 1 beer

7. a sipped straight shot of tequila (no salt, no lemon) = 1.5 beers

Curious why.

And what are the considerations between light v. regular beer. 40% reduction in drink strokes if you're hitting the bud lights?

Yeah, there needs to be some ABV scaling here.

There are 3 tough, scenic par 3's that can play in the short range that I love. And they are all at Greystone.

Honorable mention for #8, Diamond Ridge, love the green shape and blind shot.

It's a straight linear function. One beer adds one shot to my score, the second beer adds two more shots to my score, the third beer adds 3, and so on. I don't even know how many I could get down over the course of a round. Maybe 5-6? That adds a total of ~15-20 strokes to my sober score. That sounds about right.

Linear? Son, I am disappoint.

Maybe I wasn't describing total strokes lost as a function of drinks consumed, elitist engineer bully. Just taking a WAG at how many strokes each individual drink adds to my score.

Otherwise, sound work on the graph. Should probably swap appletinis in for cosmos for accuracy, but still solid.
