F me....of course the VIP meeting that was to take place this afternoon to discuss a very large donation to the medical school (and the reason I could not commit to playing today) was just CANCELLED!! Are you kidding me?

 

I cancelled yesterday due to work and now I just found out I'm free. I could make it out there if there is an opening. Brought the clubs and clothes in the car just in case. :)

Golf Care Center quotes prices about that too Domes. I remember getting DG shafts at $40 installed. Unless you really are attached to the heads you have, I like Eagle's suggestion of just buying clubs. Doesn't make all that much sense to pay $400 to get some irons reshafted with DG's when you can get a used set of irons for the same price. Then you'll have your existing clubs for a backup in case you don't like the x100 change. That's what I did when I had GCC tell me $360 for 9 clubs. I just went to Callaway Preowned and bought a set with the DGs in them for that much.

 

That's who I got the $42/club quote from. I would only need 6, but I already have a mismatched PW. Probably right to just get some new sticks instead of mess with what I have.

Good news is that X100s won't be an upcharge, unless you need the Tour Issue, which I promise you don't, nor does anyone.

Buy a set of pulls for 50-75 bucks, Buy 5 bucks worth of ferrules and have one of the guys here do it. Steel reshafts are easy peasy.

Domes - I'm really starting to like the 2i! Hit one bad drive with it the other day, but other than that it has been solid. I've hit it mostly off the tee so far, but got some nice grass range work in at Waverly with it the other day.

Played Cannon Ridge in 2:20, didn't see anyone else until 16. Man I forget how much I loved this layout. Incredible it's even open considering it was overgrown for years and just opened in June.

 

Fairways and tee boxes are Bermuda and a solid B/B+ right now, fairways are great, balls sit up perfectly. Amazing considering they just opened. Bunkers and greens though are a C- / D, bunkers are mostly hard pan and overgrown with grass still and they are still working on cutting down the rough.

 

Would definitely come back though. Not sure it's worth $65 on the weekend just yet but it will be.
