City, there's no doubt about it in my mind. A father/son team is hard to overcome. There's just a bond where the two are playing for each other in a way that others wouldn't. City827 takes it 3&2.

I have to go with City/827. 827 getting 2 shots on every hole could be tough for PQ/Hoop to overcome. Especially on the par 3's. He should be playing for bogey all day long. Listen to coach City (aka dad).

I actually mis-math'ed. When you guys started saying "2 shots a hole", I was like, "that isn't right".

 

he's only going to get like 22 strokes. Something like 1 a hole and 2 on the top 4 handicap holes.

 

I used to play in a league out there where guys would be like 22 handicaps for 9 holes and I'd give them 2 shots a hole. My brain was in that framework.

GTF: Too many to really narrow down...so I'll throw soemthing out there.

Playoff shootout at the one-day member guest. 8 teams have hit their second shot, with 2 left. "Tom" gets up there from 175 or so and two-hops it in the hole. He couldn't see it. Half the guys back in the fairway didn't watch it. The fans around the green went nuts. I was standing maybe 15 feet from him when it dropped. Needless to say the last guy left to hit didn't hole out, so it ended the playoff shootout right there. It was so quick, they weren't even started on the dinner, expecting it would take another 45 minutes at least. Moar beer for everyone.

 

I did go over to him and give him a hi-five. Told him if I'm going to lose a playoff, THAT's how I want to be beat.

Rocky Point in good shape ?

For this time of year, I thought it was as good as it could be. Sloppy in some parts from the rain earlier in the week, greens were bumpy and not breaking well, or breaking unfairly, but the fairways were decent. Pretty much as what is in the tee box. A little beat up in the more popular landing areas, but still plenty of grass to hit from. Pins were placed in the less trafficked locations.
