Just bought a swingbyte 2 to tinker with and took it over to the Bolingbrook range, probably my favorite range but 20-30 minutes is a bit far. The forcast is not looking all that great, I think it's a last minute tee time kind of weekend.

My morning commute brings me to 22nd St and 1st Avenue every morning, the two streets that border Riverside Country Club. As I was rolling through the intersection this morning I saw a ball slowly roll under my car; had it been a red light I would have stuck my foot out and grabbed it. That's over an entire two lanes of traffic and beyond the intersection. Although I've not played the course I do know that's a par 3 at that corner, and sure enough there was a cart leaving the tee box. Yikes.

Blackstone was nice. Course is in great shape even after the rain. Greens were in superb shape and I hear they will get considerably quicker. A lot of wind on that course. Playing Prairie Landing on Monday.

 

Great range at The Highlands of Elgin, but St Andrews can't be beat. Do they have actual bentgrass target greens at that range? Perfect to practice your irons there. Putting green/bunker practice area is just OK.

I'm ready to get flamed: but, Pine Meadows greens are really nice. As fast and smooth as they've been in years.

Prairie Landing has a 2 hole, full-length practice course you can play before you tee off. Novel concept. Sounds like the best public practice facility around.

Stonewall's greens are always fast. Pine Meadow has had issues with their greens for a few years.

Played Village Links (9) last night and the greens are an abomination. Every green had dozens of ball marks which had been completely ignored and several more which were tended to by vultures, apparently. Is part of the reason (aside from laziness) people don't fix their ball marks due to a warped sense of pride over their approach shot and they want to "leave their mark"?
