Alright, I pretty much only like Sante Fe styled necks for putters and am beginning to look at new putters. I've got a pretty much no-name brand putter from Australia that has a nice soft feel, but I feel it needs a little extra weight and style. I feel embarrassed with it sometimes lol.

So this is what I've been looking at recently:

Scotty Pro Platinum (can't remember the exact number)

Scotty Circa 1 & 2

Scotty Santa Fe

Scotty Newport Beach 1.5 (This and the pro plat are probably my leading interests)

Scotty Newport 1.5

Scotty Coronado

TM Rossa Imola

TM Rossa Indy (quite interested in this offering from TM)

Ping G2 Anser D

Ping Anser 4 [stainless] (it's on the Bay and I'm also very interested in this putter)

Bettinardi (whatever that model is with the santa fe neck)

If any others could be mentioned that would be appreciated. I've got a price range of at the top end $200 (US) so I'd like some feedback on these and just want to see what u guys think.

I'm like you, I like the Santa Fe styled putters. I've tried several of the ones you mentioned above.

 

The Ping Answer 4 in BeCu feels very nice and soft.

 

I would list my favs as follows:

 

Santa Fe

Answer 4 in BeCu

Laguna 2 with 2 sight lines

Rossa Indy

 

I also like the Tri Hot #2 from Odyssey and the M2 from Bobby Grace/Macgregor

I also like Santa Fe necks.

 

My first choice (and gamer) would be a Cameron Laguna either Oil Can or Gun Blue. Not the Laguna 2 or 2.5.

 

Second choice would be the Bettinardi BB18 or the identical but much cheaper Hogan Bettinardi BHB4.

 

Third choice would be a Circa 62 #2.

 

Fourth would be one of the other Camerons like a Newport 2.5.

 

 

A wildcard would be a TP Mills Softtail. You can get them with what is called a hybrid neck. I believe Jay has one in stock now.

One of the Rossa CGB models (Modena, I think) has a short slant neck, too. Should be pretty cheap on Ebay these days. Never Compromise Exchange #6 http://www.exchangeputters.com/ also should meet your needs and features self-customizable weights.

 

Thanks for that moecat. I'll look into the TP Mills putters. Just wanting to know if u rate the Rossa Indy TP as up there next to Scotty's because I love & know the feel of Scotty's?

I forgot to mention the Yes! Tracy II putter. Very nice looking and cheap

My top three are:

(1) Bettinardi BB-18 with the copper insert.
(2) Cameron Santa Fe TeI3
(3) Cameron Classic 1.5



You can probably find a used Santa Fe within your price range. I recommend you get one with a Pro-Platinum finish because of glare reduction and are easier to maintain. A 1.5 or BB-18 are gonna run you quite a bit more, if you can find one.

I think the new Rife could be my new putter - I can't remember wat its called though, but it looks very much like the Aussie with a santa fe neck. Perfect

I too like the sante fe, anser 4 style necks. Check out the ping zing, redwood or Karsten series. I was rolling one at the shop and it suits my eye nicely.
