Chilidog, I salute you for pushing. I love that pant (I have a similar pair from J Crew) and love that at least someone is trying to move golf fashion forward!

They aren't your typical sweat pants. If it works for you, then go for it. I don't think its throwing a wrench in the machine too much.

I like them Chilidog, id consider a hybrid of the jogger & normal type trouser.

So:
Has the tapered bottoms
Belt Loops
Three pockets
Light weight and comfy stretch material.

In the UK currently its the FJ smart looking stuff that all the young un's are going for.

Skinny jeans are about the worst look ever, and these joggers are a close second.

I remember when MC hammer wore these. They were called hammer-pants. The elastic around the ankle is the deal-breaker. Clown pants do the same thing. To show off the huge clown shoes.

Pair these with some True tours and you'll really need an extra small golf cart to complete the look.

Maybe doable if you are going to play at 5am with a ton of dew or if it poured the day before and the course is going to be soaked. Then maybe.

But I'd never buy them just for those two situations.

You don't remember Hammer pants then. They were oversized loose fit with elastic. These are form fitting slim fit with elastic. To each his own but at least have your facts straight.

I have no idea what ABC pants are. But these do look like sweatpants. From a distance you'd never know. Anyway, like I said, I don't care. I was just pointing out the arbitrariness of dress codes.

Walking around the US Senior Open I noticed something I can't see on TV and that is how many of the guys wear very casual non golf shop brand pants. Lots of five pocket jean styles but in grey, khaki etc. they looked like something you would buy at any store in any mall rather than the $80-$300 custom golf brand pants I imagined. For example Tom Lehman looked like he rolled out of bed and threw on the pants that were thrown in the corner of his room the night before after he ran to Home Depot for some lumber.

John Cook does too, it's more how the pockets are styled to look like a jean vs. a khaki or dress pant. Not practical for golf, as I see both these guys digging in their pocket for their marker.

Everything that is moisture wicking is polyester. It's much lighter and breathable than cotton. Certainly you know this.

All golf shorts/pants and shirts that cool and wick the best are 100% poly.
