Really enjoying this ball. Those big, shallow dimples remind me of the old Wilson ProStaff Truncated Cone Dimple (another favorite of my early golfing days -- I always liked unique dimple patterns/dimple shapes as they made me feel like I had an advantage of tech working on my behalf).

I like it's level of softness -- not too soft like Callaway Supersoft or too hard.

Only concern has been the cover seems to scuff pretty easily -- like if I haven't cleaned the club face well enough, I'll make a mark on the ball.

Is it a big enough concern for you to stop using the Wilson 50 Elite? I picked up a dozen of these to see how I like them.........worst case I use the Gamer.......either way I'll be a happy camper.

I ordered a couple dozen from Kmart with $25 in surprise points they gave me. I received them today to see them packaged differently. They now "slide" in rather than just pulling off the top to get to the golf balls like you do with other more traditional packaging.

On another note, I have never had the issue with the scuffing of the ball mentioned in the post above.

For some reason I play better with 2 piece soft 'distance' balls than multi-layer urethane cover balls?!
Same here!
I play well with either, but don't care to spend a ton when those in this price point work just fine,

Have you used any of the Taylormade golf balls?

no, not really. Occasional one I've found, but never liked one well enough to buy new or used. I'm pretty much calling off the search at this point. I'm happy with these three. I've enjoyed various Bridgestone models over the years, but decided I'd stick with smaller purchases of new balls versus having to load up on bulk used to get the free shipping. Played some Srixons a few years ago, but thought they were noticeably shorter off the tee for me.

Same, I like the Srixon Q star, Top Flite Gamer, & will try as many have suggested the Wilson 50 Elite (hopefully the likely 50 degree weather doesn't skew things in how I feel about them)

I finally pulled the trigger on some. Wanted some orange ones for fun -- a buddy I play with a lot uses a yellow ball, and I like using a different color from him and got tired of using white. :) Dicks had free shipping no minimum, so I went for it. Really fun to play with -- love the feel. Not as super soft as the Duo Spin, but still very soft and nice. Unfortunately, I was swinging pretty horribly the one round I used them, so I didn't get a great read on spin into greens, but it seemed just fine. I'll always prefer a urethane cover as I'm not good at flopping the ball way up in the air when short-sided and have always stopped those shots with spin, but the 50 seemed okay around the greens and maybe something I could adapt to.

One nice bonus, I wasn't sure if I'd get the new or old stamping on the ball, but fortunately I got the newer one. That doesn't really matter, but I do very much prefer the look of the newer logo, and at least I know the ball wasn't made several years ago. (My local stores only had the yellow in the old logo.)

For rounds I where I've been practicing some and am playing a better course and am kind of fired up to shoot a good score, I'm sure I'll use a urethane ball. But I play quite a few country type courses with lots of high-grass natural area where it's easy to lose balls if I'm off -- especially this time of year when it can get windy -- and this ball will be perfect for those types of days.

Question if anyone has read this far: Are those Budgetgolf yellow blems the new or old logo? I'd assumed old -- maybe this is a way for Wilson to move those along? -- but might get some if they're the new logo.

K-Mart in Dayton, Ohio is selling all three colors for $10.49 a dozen. You guys are right the yellow is sort of an odd color. Not sure what they were thinking.???

Which ball?

They do scuff easy along the dimple ridges.... had a couple in my bag for a 2 weeks and they look like range balls now... not that I really can complain for what they cost..
Is that because of the grooves in your wedges or all clubs hitting them period?

The balls had never been hit... it was from rubbing against the other balls in my bag.... I had some Titleist velocitys and some Staff Duo in the bag with them which are fine...

Interesting, I have a box I've never hit yet.........I plan to play them in what may be at best a 54 degree day.

I recently played the ball and really like that it was soft enough to stop quickly on the green AND it was much straighter off the tee. For the price I am definitely going to make this my regular gamer.

I'm probably somewhat near that, get to play them for the 1st time this upcoming weekend...........but it may not even reach 50 degrees so not sure how much I'll be able to tell from hitting the sleeve I'll bring with me.

I always carry them in the bag with other balls unprotected. Only ones roughed up are the ones hit with the wedge. 3/4 and up swung wedge shot does wonders to the cover but which ball really survives that?

Hit a low flight 9 iron that travelled 140 yards into the centre of the green. The ball stopped as if it hit a giant pillow. I just laughed out loud because it was a mishit on my part but the amount of spin to stop a low flight 140 yard shot was nothing short of amazing. If you can execute, these balls will perform incredibly well. Left the hole thinking I was Lee Trevino. The next hole reminded me I'm just David. :)
