Shot 74 (on sanded aerated greens) yesterday with a 3 putt. Love these balls!
Nice! I heard these balls even float over aerated greens :)
Hope these land soft on greens Saturday

It is a riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma.

Or golf marketing 201. Kind of like how one shaft marked "Regular" will feel and measure like a telephone pole, while another company's "Stiff" will feel like a piece of spaghetti.

Hey guys,

I recently purchased the new version of the 50 Elite. Additionally, I have a dozen of the old generation coming in, so I plan to run a comparison of these two balls sometime next week. I'll probably test the 2015 Duo next to them to truly get a sense of what's the best ball. All balls are yellow FWIW.

Stay tuned!

I'm confused. New 2015 model, with or without logo?

Just got back from Golf Town. Tons there. Picked up another double dz. ;) I play the white because I don't like the yellow. If it was Cally yellow, I would!

Are they the new one's or last year's model?

I picked up a double dozen ($26.99) at GolfTown in Moncton yesterday. No W/S logo. New model?

The new model has a bigger number on it. That is the one I used. I get them @ G.T. in London where I worked this past summer. Wish the yellow was more like Callaway and Titleist?!

It seems many who like this have low handicap.............I'm not sure what mine is but I'd think it's between a 15 to 20.
Golf ball is great for mid and high handicap. More about fit than handicap.

It's one of the ball I'm trying tomorrow..........I'm hoping even with the cool weather I can see something that pushes me in a direction

ob18, when it comes down to picking a ball for me is feel, performance and price. I seem to play better with 2 piece balls vs. multi piece/urethane. I don't spin the ball that much, so urethane doesn't work for me. I like soft feeling balls. Was playing Super soft, but when I tried the 50s, they performed almost the same at 1/2 the price. IMO, you can't loose?! ;)

Bringing a sleeve of the Wilson 50 & Top Flite Gamer Tour for my round today (I have an 11:09am tee time) and will be around 45 at tee off.........then it will be months without swinging a club.

I may plan a February trip to Florida but unsure of that at the moment
I agree with everything you say accept my preference is with a harder ball for feel. To me, the softer golf balls like the 50 elite and the Wilson Duo, excetera, are just too soft for my liking. Aren't these softer feeling balls rather new to the scene? It's almost as if they're going to far to the soft end of the spectrum with golf balls.

This debate could rage on forever.........haha...........I'd like a ball that helps with distance, while doesn't bounce like a rock when hitting into the greens,...............all while not costing a bunch of cash.

I was at Dick's Sporting Goods this morning and I bought some Top Flite XL distance balls that were on sale, but I didn't see any topflight gamers in stock? Maybe everybody's buying them up? Maybe it's the ball of the future?

Well the wind was up around 30 mph today so I did what I could (ended with an 87)

I hit both balls (Top Flite Gamer Tour & Wilson 50 Elite)

Both were decent in my results, 50 had much less side spin for my typical left to right driver...........irons about the same.....wedges better with the 50 and putting okay with both (whenever I try new balls it takes me time to settle into it with them)

I actually was cutting the cover on the Gamer Tour with irons not even wedges (so I'll return them, not sure if I'll get more 50 Elites or standard Gamers)

Weather looks decent next weekend & I'm hopeful of getting out again

Had a free sleeve of them. I played one for a few holes and liked it. Gave the rest to a buddy to try and he said the same thing.
I have tried them, as well as the Wilson duos, and other low compression balls, and frankly there are all too soft. It feels, to me, like I'm hitting a marshmallow. I have found the best results with a high compression ball that stays straight.

I've been using the elites for 2-3 seasons now. Tried the Duo and Spin but went back to the Elite. Great ball and for $27 for 2 dozen... Sign me up!

I did try the chrome soft the other day which had similar feel but seemed to give me 5-10 more yards.

Thought this might be of interest for those who continue to claim low compression balls are for lower swing speed players and for low temperature use only: http://www.Not allowed because of spam.com/the-truth-myths-about-soft-feel-golf-balls/

I have hit them and they fly nice, but the feel is too soft for me.

Checked these out today at Kmart, they have every color except white. I have to say they remind me of sherbet. Like many have said, I'd prefer a normal bright yellow but will give them a go as soon as the snow melts.

Β

Predictability and price is how I choose the ball,

Β

Β

Handicap doesnt play that much affect on the ball in essence as the ball doesnt know who is swinging at it, a 90mph SS, 120 mph ss

Β

Β

But you match the ball to your preference.

Β

1) Predictable spin off the tee. Do you need something that spins more or less

2) Predictable spin on your second shots, Do you need the left to right movement, do you need more or less spin to stop the ball at longer distances

3) Predictable control when attacking pins. Do you play an approach with regards to a roll out, do you expect your ball to on hope stop, do you expect your ball to drop and not move at all or back spin?

4) Putting feel, what gives you the most confidence off the putter face, when striking......

Β

Β

Β

In my mind, as a 20+ Handicap, or a + Handicap, if the ball gives the player the most consistent predictable shot...... it shouldnt matter what the ball is made of, it could be a rock for all we know, we just want and expect the most consistent result because god knows...this game is hard enough.... I dont want to worry if this shot will spin or not, or spin more or less..... I just want to hit the green so I have a chance for birdie and or easy par.

I used these balls today in 7*c weather and they felt and worked great. Fired off a +3 for my first February round of golf ever and my first round since August. I used yellow ones today and they were nice and easy to see, even in the brown grass. Love, love, love this ball!!
