Stenson's caddie is wearing a $20k watch.

not if he bought it in Rio.

Rollex

The version with one L is more expensive for sure.

I think LA is in the running for 2024. riveria would be a great choice

What do ya think bout that pbfoot ?

I said in my initial post that I would love to see a two-course combo of LACC and Riv. However the indications are that they would put a bunch of money into revamping Griffith Park.

It's hard to say who is going to win 2024. LA and Paris are obviously the best choices from a safety and infrastructure point of view, but Rome and Budapest are more likely to capitulate to the IOC.

Do you really think that Paris is a best choice from a safety stand point with what has happened there recently. The European Championships (football) were difficult enough for them but an Olympics would probably be a logistical nightmare.

Fair enough, but because they face such significant domestic threats I think the safety apparatus in France is probably much better developed to handle a huge international event than Budapest or Rome. Obviously from that standpoint LA would be best because not only would the LAPD and FBI be more than equipped, but there is not really a significant existing threat.

And I love Budapest, genuinely one of my favorite cities in the world, but from an infrastructure standpoint it would be a logistical nightmare. The main airport doesn't even have jetbridges. However, as we know, the IOC has...varied...considerations when determining a host city.

Stenson's caddie is wearing a $20k watch.

He better be careful - four Olympic swimmers, including Gold Medal winner Ryan Lochte, was robbed at gunpoint.

I would think LA would be a better choice infrastructure and safety wise. Most of the facilities are there. And safety will be top notch.

As soon as I feel that golf is truly an olympic sport some caddie, gets an uppity attitude with the spectators. Put your phones away, stop taking pictures. I haven't heard a camera from a phone shutter in ages. I'm not saying it should be a free for all but how.riduculous does it look that you're outside, birds are chirping away and you can't take a picture with your phone?

So new to the game fans can get conditioned proper. And why would anyone want a pic of a tour golfer without themselves in it? Waste of cloud, imo.

As soon as I feel that golf is truly an olympic sport some caddie, gets an uppity attitude with the spectators to remind us golf has etiquette and fans are often secondary. Makes you wonder how practically every sport allows cheering during play, well maybe tennis but even thats changing. If a 5'1" gymnast can flip and twirl on a 4 inch piece of wood while there's music, cheering, and teammates yelling out her name, it makes you wonder how Put your phones away, stop taking pictures looks to the non-golf fan. I haven't heard a camera from a phone shutter in ages. I'm not saying it should be a free for all but how.riduculous does it look that you're outside, birds are chirping away and you can't take a picture with your phone?

Don't know why they don't just practice with background noises like that

No telling where Locthe was when he was robbed.

I think a service station...or maybe that was some other Olympic participants that were also robbed.

Johnny Miller is such a jackass. His comment about Fraser needing to get out of the way... Really?

I agree the guy gets to play his game just as much as the other two.

The theory was just about them being out of their comfort zone away from everything that the PGA Tour provides. Did their performance over the first two days demonstrate that; perhaps. They probably would have missed the cut if there had been one, but a lack of a cut has allowed them to acclimatise and play their way in, especially Kuchar who looked to be in with a shout up until a moment ago.

I figured your "theory" would be...how can I put it delicately, inane...

Good word inane, I like it.

Thanks. It fits. I mean Rickie Fowler (27 years old) is so uncomfortable when he leaves the confines of the PGA Tour that he's won in Scotland, Abu Dhabi and Korea (plus a T2 at the British). Patrick Reed is so uncomfortable that he's taken up membership on the European Tour (and check out his results over there at the end of last season). Kuchar is so uncomfortable that he's got a T2 in Scotland a T9 at the British a 7th in Hong Kong and a win in Fiji (ok, that's not going to blow anyone away, but that kind of sums Matt up, he's a top 10 machine back at home as well). And Bubba...to be fair I think he's out of his comfort zone pretty much anytime he steps outside his front door.

Too bad it was held in Rio and had such a pathetically weak field.

I've been thinking that Atlanta might be gearing up to make another bid. They've got two new stadiums going up, they could do it while the old ones are still there. Isn't that how it went last time?

Not that I've heard any official talk of it.

This crowd doesn't have a clue lol. People keep trying to pick up the ball, why would you think that is a good idea? And people are so blatant in their phone usage.
