This is the Most Painful Pre-shot Routine on the PGA Tour

i went to Valspar last saturday and then API yesterday and the pace of play on tour is an absolute joke. Yesterday i followed Rory and Lucas Glover a bit on the back 9 and the difference between the two was astronomical. At one point on 16, Glover took so long to hit his ball (from the fairway mind you) that Rory looked back at him from the rough three different times wondering what he was doing. Mind you that's looking back, then waiting 15-20 seconds and then looking back again, repeat. After Glover finally went it took Rory 10 seconds to line up the shot, get over the ball and pull the trigger.

Somethings gotta give, the TOUR needs to do something because multiple groups yesterday had hole to hole and half gaps between them for no reason.

Maybe an actual clock, like in the NFL, would help. Give them a big 40 second countdown clock in front of them. How about giving undrafted college pass rushers jobs? When the buzzer goes off they get to rush the golfer and sack him. Seriously, maybe a yardage penalty for a clock violation.

Even better how about retired NFL players. Imagine the excitement of watching the clock tick down with a kitted up Ray Lewis ready to explode onto a 160 pound tour player.

Wouldn't happen with Rory, he's built like a middle linebacker.

Lol. Isn't Tiger a tight end haha? If Tiger or Rory ever had to face a sack from an NFL player the medics would need a dust pan and brush to sweep up the pieces.

Funny thing is the guys who can hit their 3 wood 230+ for a par 5 actually will lay up while the hackers who get lucky to hit it 200 prep for the miraculous shot that will never happen and make everyone wait.

As bad as it is, it's not close to as bad as some of what we see. It's nowhere near as painful as Christie Kerr. Or Crane. Or Keegan.

Heck, US Am qualifier last year... 5.5 hour first round, 6.5 hour second round. So painful. I went to my car after round 1 and grabbed a small folding chair with me for round 2. So comfy.
