His slow play was fully exposed during the final round of Byron Nelson. He was last group with Steven Bowditch.
His slow routine goes beyond iron play. Putting is just as painful.

I wish the broadcasters would do more to name and shame players like this. I know it's serious, they are out their playing for their living, playing for the families and all of that but this game, first and foremost, is about enjoyment for those playing and watching, there is nothing enjoyable about some clown taking 45 seconds to hit a mediocre wedge shot.

This post might not be understood by our international members but.....They were able to write a new rule in Major League Baseball to speed up the game, and it made a noticeable difference, (Still work to be done) so they should be able to do it in Golf. What's the big deal? It's no different than the anchored putting stroke. You implement a new rule, and you ENFORCE that rule! You have "X" number of seconds/minutes to hit your shot or you are penalized 1 stroke. What do you think these guys are gonna do, quit and go to work in a Burger King? How many Tour Pros quit because of the "Anchor Rule?" When you see it on a video like this, you realize how bad it has gotten.

Instead of some of the insignificant nonsense that the R&A and USGA worry about, THIS has to be corrected!

I'm with you there.

It is obvious that the governing bodies really do not give an F about slow play since they refuse to address the problem. I don't think that slow play on Tour has much of a relationship to slow play in the typical Saturday morning weekend warrior hack-attack, but watching it still bothers me so I just watch less.

The US Amateur and any significant college-level tournament is just brutal, too.

I was watching the HSBC and they were talking about the 75 minute delay and how they were going to struggle to finish. They mentioned that sunset was 5:01 or something like that.

Watched the final group tee off and the clock behind the first tee said 12:00.

Sad that in a three ball they can't finish in 5 hours.

Back on topic: Loupe is SLOOOOOOOW and I agree that it won't change until they start giving penalties. There is no indication they will start giving penalties, so it's not going to change. SAD

Yeah, right up to the point where if they finish a late evening round they won't have to come back at 7am to play the last 2 holes. Then all these guys can just fly to get it into the clubhouse. 10 minutes per hole max.

The only meaningful way for any governing body to address slow play is to assess stroke penalties. Throw some two shotters on Loupe and he will speed up.

As bad as it might be to say, I was thrilled when he lost his card last year and was sent back down to the minors. But he fought his way back up and we'll have another season of this crap seeing as he never addressed his abysmal pace on the Web. Hopefully he's not in contention too often.
