Oceans Eleven Confessions to break a man's heart....

Conrad, you frequent Capitol Hill? You lucky dog! Spent a couple days there and thought those courses were fantastic!

Matt, got to play my league tonight for the first time and shot a 37 to lead the list of 25 guys who've played so far this year! Can't say enough about that shoulder thought you mentioned. I'm so comfortable over putts right now and the greens at our course are very slick currently. I owe you a few beers next time you're in central IL! ?

Edit: speaking of which, Michael do you ever make it over to the links in Jacksonville for a round?

It's been years. I like The Links just done get over there. Usually buy a pass for Bunn/Lincoln Greens and 80% of my play is there.

Where do you play on a league?

I play munis in cargo shorts tshirts and/or jeans.

I'm 49 years old and no longer assume I can hold it.

Any questions? ;)

What is the basis for your assumption that you can no longer hold it? PIP, perchance?

Michael, the links is where my league is on Wednesday nights. I occasionally play in the 2 man scramble at Shambolee on Tuesday nights too. I bought the membership deal there when it was $175 for three years. Unbelievable deal. I love Lincoln Greens though. It's my favorite course in Springfield. Haven't played Bunn much. Once a couple years ago and again in the late 90's. Do you ever make it out to Crane, or better yet WIU's course at Macomb?

Conrad, I think I was there three winters ago but will keep you in mind! Myself and a couple other guys almost came down the second weekend in December this past winter but we couldn't get a 4th and three guys aren't good for a trip like that when it comes to driving and hotel. Hopefully this coming December.

I'm sure it DEPENDS on whether there's a sink nearby to blame a

faux splash on. If not then he has to cop to PIPing down the fairway.

Hey Chief, sorry I forgot to welcome you. You know how every island has a leeward side whichever way the wind is blowing? Here at WRX, we are the leeward side. No matter what tempest might be blowing on WRX elswhere, we are always in a nice peaceful harbor, where things can be discussed (confessed) without reproach. But that doesn't mean we are short on content. We got club techies, we got swing techies, we got feelies, we got ho's, we got young'ns and old'ns, and we got some golfers with some damn good credentials, this is starting to sound like Toby Keith 'I love this bar'...

Edit: ohduh, nice three seven! (I meant to say that at the start)

Just a heads up, your 'likes' are going rise exponentially. We get some flak about that but personally, I apply them liberally on other threads as well, so I think the mechanism causing any disparity is that WRXers elsewhere don't use their 'likes' enough.

I've been to Crane. They used to have a Monday deal. It was 36 holes and lunch for like $28. It's been a few years. My scores were "turble". I didn't think I played that poorly but both rounds were well into the 90s. Greens were hard and fast. I wasn't familiar enough with lines off the tee and where to bail out. It's a cool layout though.

Never been to Macomb and only played Shamblee twice since it's gone to 18 holes. I mostly stay close. The Rail or Edgewood. I'm going to make it over to Red Tail Run this year.

Spencer T down in Alton used to have a deal like Crane had. I've been down there a few times. Theres another nice course down the road from Spencer called Fox Creek. I really like the layout of that course, as well.

Back to around here, I don't play Piper much. It would be pretty nice if it weren't for the houses. The lay out is good....except for a few gimmicky holes. Love #8. #9 is a travesty. #3, 13, and 16 are good holes except for the houses...lol. It was built cheaply too. I played there in an outing last year and the range was mostly weeds and no sand. How do you build a course in the 90s with no drains in the bunkers? Lol.

I'm with you on Lincoln Greens. It's probably my favorite around here. The Rail has the best greens I've ever played on. There on the fast side but they'll hold an approach shot and roll true.

Awesome Chief!

If I ever make it back to Illinois I'll take you up on the beers.

I played skins this morning and was a little off all day. I did drain two longer putts for birdie, winning my money back and a little extra, so I can't complain. My distance control wasn't great on longer putts, but I chalk that up to using some new methods and some wacky pins. It was not bad enough to abandon ship and start trying anything new.

Glad to hear you put a good number up. Keep 'em coming!

MC, back in my gigging days I would invariably end up in the drive thru line at McDonalds @3 am after about 14 vodka and club sodas ;) .....the line was always REAL long. So one night I pulled into the line already holding "it", placed my order and ended up being stuck in line for 10 minutes (drunk people making huge orders). Started doing the dance, shifting, breathing, transcending myself mentally. It got worse, started looking for an empty bottle in my car......nothing. So I took my shirt off, folded it up, placed it under me and let it go LOL. Butterscotch for sure, followed by shame. I would have got out and relieved myself in a bush if there was any, going inside was not an option as only the drive thru was open.

PIP, BTDT :D

Edit: Tooled, great posts everyone. Matt nice job with the putting tips, and keep up the putting practice too! Chief, that's some nice shooting Bro!

So I found replacements for the nikes. A set of the Nike vr pro blades 3-Pw. Cheaper by a few dollars. Looked to be in good shape. Just some chatter which is fine because it's going to happen. I was going they were going to come in today but for some reason they sat overnight in Columbia instead of getting to charleston earl this morning for delivery to my house. Oh well they'll be here tomorrow haha. Looks like I won't be using them until next week though as I may just go fishing tomorrow as the tides are finally matching up to when I like to get out and fish the surf.

Thanks Papa. The vr pros have been on my peripheral radar ever since I saw a closeout set on ebay for about $500 a couple yrs ago, but I didn't pull the trigger. I got over it, but now I'm going to renew the hunt. Is their last years offering still called the 'vr pro'?

No problem. Yes the model before the vapor pros are still call Vr pros.

Forever Changing at this point.......

When you can't get through the night without needing to visit the bathroom at least once you know things are on the decline.

I'm surprised no-one had designed a portable catheter that attaches to a golf trolley yet. There's got to be a market for that?

Necessity is the mother of invention:

I saw this on the old golf channel show where inventors presented their inventions in the hopes of getting it sponsored.

Confession: I once drove interstate 40 across TX, NM, and AZ without making a pit stop for 16 hours. I drank Snapple iced tee and used the empty bottles to pee into whilst driving. When I finally stopped I had like 5 full bottles.

And they are here!!!! Bag chatter as expected but faces look almost new. You can see some impact spots and sad to say, I know why the person sold these to the eBay store I bought them from haha.

One man's trash is another's treasure. I'm still waiting for that poor sap that hates his baby blades to put them up for sale.

I'm really interested in your take on how the Nikes feel and perform compared to your Macs. The Nikes are such a classic blade look with a very simple muscle shape. Being from Portland, I love to hate on Nike, but I'm really a fan of their blades. Only exception being the FUGLY Vapor Pros...the shape of the muscle is horrible and again plastic just ruins feel/feedback.

Sorry, I tried. POITO?

LMAO it's the same as PBT minus the tree.

Thank the 'Sweet Lord Jesus' someone asked that question - had no clue what POITO meant.

And was madly coming up with a variety of 'options', non of them in the least bit good. Horrific, nightmare inducing, never want to ever see, what i thought it could be .

Thank you!

Will sleep well again now.........

You have to 'troll spar' with Master Conrad1953 a bit before you start understanding his mindset and vernacular. Plus I love word play of all types. It took me a second to figure it out, too, FWIW.
