we had an influx of migrants from california starting a couple of years ago. the rate per 100,000 of people with cos (chronically offended syndrome) increased.

stay away from gyms and lululemon and you should be ok.

decades of squelching sarcasm was difficult. i’m trying to make up for it.

🤔

What’s that song… You’re so vain you probably think this post is about you???

Oh wait, can’t be! I didn’t move to AZ! Phew

The problem with Calif is that what gets done there spreads to other places. It would be

awesome if y'all ever did something smart.

i know nothing about birds. anyone know what kind of bird this little guy is? he’s small but loud. he’s relentless. up all night and day and every call is different. sorry for the poor photo, old ipad camera is old.

Why is CA hate always about politics? Thought that wasn’t allowed here??
I live here for the weather, ocean/coastline, Yosemite, wine country, Tahoe/Sierras and Monterey n Carmel. 😊

All great reasons! . The Central Coast is still on my retirement list possibilities.  I’m fine with ignoring politics just about anywhere. Just not worth my time.

Hard to tell from that photograph.  Based on your descriptive, "small but loud", suggests a wren.  They're notorious chatterboxes and very active birds.  Consult your Peterson's "Field Guide to Western Birds" reference.  Ever home needs a bird book.

Dedicated musky anglers typically abide by catch and release.  Unless one catches a trophy with the idea of having it mounted.  There are minimum size regulations in place (36" IIRC) and daily possession limits.  Lake St. Clair is premier musky waters, has a number of charters, and believe catch and release is strongly encouraged.

Never heard of anyone eating musky.  Suppose you could if so inclined.  Northern Pike can be excellent fare, if of sufficient size and properly filleted.  Have to be sure and remove the small "Y" bones along the midline of the fillet.  Small pike (aka hammer handles) aren't worth the bother and get released.  Pain in the a** fish when one is angling for something else (walleye).

Largemouth Bass are gross to eat.  Never specifically fished for them, always an incidental catch.  Toss up back.  Smallmouths, pound for pound, put up a better fight and are fun to catch.  Different type of structure and habitat than largemouths.

Anyhow.  Back in my boat fishing days, was a troller and/or drift fisherman.  Primarily for walleyes, which are top notch table fare.  Not a caster, which was to much work.  And interfered with kicking back and enjoying a cold one while having a line in the water.  Quite relaxing trolling along as the sun is going down.

Once in awhile, we actually catch a fish.  Not mine, the bud pictured.  I was the net man, and almost blew the landing.  We needed a bigger net.  Lake trout (~20 lb. IIRC).

The best shore lunch I’ve ever had was in northern Ontario. I think.  (We flew out of red lake to some lodge on some lake, passing over maybe 1000 other lakes apparently not as good). Sonny was our native guide. We trolled for walleye in the AM and then cast enormous spoons for northern after lunch. During lunch while the guides fixed up the food we would try our hand at the grayling hanging out and the inlet or outlet of each lake with lightweight gear.

Sonny fried the walleye with a hunk of lard he carried in his kit, and would reuse for each subsequent meal. We fresh sliced onions and cream corn.

Beat anything I’ve ever had since in a 3 star Michelin.

Ya know….never been Luger, have you?

Been to bunch of steak places, Keens is hands down favorite, last night was just this little place we like

I heard Lugers “heyday” is over and now it’s a little dbaggy lol

That's a shame.  Luger's steak was top notch, but I haven't been there since I was Shanghaied to Maryland 24 years ago.

Geez, we just had a convo about sarcasm and being "offended", LMAO.  This new TiScape

probably get offended by a little trash talk on the golf course when he pulls a granola bar

out of his golf bag for an energy boost.

I know u were being “sarcastic” but also know it’s how you and others genuinely feel and I hear it all the time. So took the opportunity to express that I don’t let politics affect my happiness or where I live. Wasn’t my intention to trigger ya 😇

*honestly the only thing that bother me about living here… 10 round max magazine capacity??? Ugh 😩 Thankfully I held onto all my high capacity weapons 😊

I generally pull a Jim Beam Apple mini out of my golf bag for an energy boost.  One of those airline size little nips.   Guess you could call me a Nipper.  Or maybe you could call me an alcoholic.  No offense taken, either way.

They still sell mini bottles in Liquor Stores in SC. Now the bars went free pour like 6 or 8 years ago. In keeping to the established SC way of doing things we were the last state to do so
