Wasn't Couples with Lynx then?

 

Wasn't there a lot of buzz talk about the RAM club Couples got from Tom Watson's wife? Then the commercial about the Lynx BOOM BOOM Driver?

 

After Lynx, what about the RAM/Tommy Armour/ Teardrop group that he signed with.....and didn't pay him.

Yeah , his famous ram 3 wood medal came from Tom Watsons wife. He boomed that thing a mile.

I also do not recall Couples ever being associated with Ping.

 

Way back in the day, so to speak, I recall him playing Lynx Black Cat and Tommy Armour 845s.

 

He also used Maxfli irons and balls for a bit. I still have a signed Maxfli Revolution balata from him somewhere.

 

Was not aware of this! The reference to the Maxfli Revolution balata brings back memories.

With apologies for nitpicking....

 

The Revolution ball wasn't a balata, but a solid core urethane ball with a thin wound layer.

 

I like to refer to them as "quasi-wound" balls, because the wound layer was thin, not like the usual wound balls such as the HT....

There is no doubt Couples has used Ping putters. In my prior post I was referring to irons.

He also played Ping irons awhile. Think he played them in college as many Pros did but then the various companies came calling with their advertising dollars.
