In regards to the stand mechanism itself, the oversized feet served very well but there was one particular feature about the stand that I wasn't pleased with. At certain times during my round the stand legs would kind of flop around and hit my bag as I took each step. This was somewhat annoying but not a game changer.

I purchased the white version of the Z Four a month ago and have been generally pleased with it, although I had the same problem with the "floppy legs." The following solution worked for me:

- There is a black plastic bracket joining the two leg tension wires.

- Slide that bracket 1-2" toward the top of the bag. (It takes some effort, squeezing the wires together and wiggling to get it to move, but it will.)

- The higher the bracket is, the tighter the legs will be to the bag, but the harder it will be to extend the legs when putting the bag down. I fiddled with that adjustment until I found a place that works for me.

That is a fantastic tip and much appreciated

Yes! You won't regret it, especially at that price. I just walked 18 with mine for the first time today and it was great. I'm still getting used to having a 4 way (vs 14 way) top, but still really enjoyed using this bag today.

The Z Four is as comfortable as my Flextech Crossover and a lb or so lighter.

Beautiful bag. love that color. Reminds me of my mizuno bdr4 both color and how the top attaches. wish i knew about this bag. would have gotten it instead. love how it has so many pockets.

This is such a great bag... I have mine back in play and forget how much I love it until I get it out. The valuable pockets are a bit small for todays phones, but I end up throwing mine in the smaller side pocket attached to the largest pocket and its fine... The new Z85 bags look really nice, too, but not until the Z Four gives out!

EDIT* Nevermind, for $80 shipped, I just grabbed a red one. LOL... Thats a stupid deal, couldn't pass it up.

Appreciate the heads up on the Budget Golf discount. I have been using one of these bags for the past two seasons (in white), and while it is still fully functional, it is starting to look a little tired. I almost ordered one off of eBay a couple of weeks ago for $92, but couldn’t pass up a fresh replacement for $71 + $9 shipping. Went with the navy this time.

I have had no complaints with my current bag. Looks good, pockets work well. As was mentioned, the cell phone pocket is too small to zip my iPhone up in, but as a proud member of the Push Cart Mafia I normally keep it in the storage portion of my cart rather than in the bag itself. At this price, this bag is a steal.

I walked another 18 with the Z Four today and am still impressed with it. Great bag for an even better price, currently. I really don't miss using the TM Flextech Crossover, which is an awesome bag in it's own right. I think I'll be using the Flextech in warm weather since it has an actual drink cooler, which the Z Four is lacking.

I did notice the stand legs bouncing a little while walking today. Got home and wiggled that plastic clip/bracket up an inch and they seem to be better secured now.

Got my red Z four today from Budget golf... fast shipping. I'm still shocked that these were available for $80 shipped. My white one is doing well... some minor wear spots, but starting to look a little dirty. Such a functional bag IMO....

Would love to know what you guys think when those of you who ordered one, receive it.

The Z Four is the only bag I can think where I liked EVERY colourway it came in (besides the ladies pink). The replacement Z85 colours are kind of terrible by comparison.

  • 1 month later...

Just got a Z four - very comfortable to carry. As previous posters noticed legs dangled a bit when carrying. Seems that if you press on side of bag leg stand mechanism activated - so pressure against the padded bit can cause legs to start to open.

May try to see if I can adjust the clasp thingy on leg mechanism - or may just leave as not a massive issue.

Overall think bag is great and just love the 4 big dividers - work really well.

Hard to ignore the Jones bag discounts right now, but it's hard to justify with how good the Z Four is. I still have a brand new red one just sitting while I beat my white one up a bit more. Bag just does everything I need. The prices these can be had for right now is crazy for how good this bag is.

"Floppy Legs" was the only almost major issue with me. I'm going to make that adjustment earlier mentioned.

I'm assuming the clasp thingy is the same as on my Mizuno bag. I know if I push it up as high as I can the legs don't droop, but it always slides back down. Anyone found a way to keep the clasp up?

The reason I have not adjusted it yet is that it does seem to be fairly firmly fixed in its current position - from what you say that it slides back this is perhaps its natural resting place!

Wonder if anyone has contacted Srixon to see if they can propose a solution (noticed some bags - I think Mizuno one - allow you to adjust the legs spring tension)

It took a little convincing but I got the plastic bracket to move an inch or so, which solved the whole "floppy leg" thing. It likely wouldn't slide back down because it was pretty tough to move. Even so, I wrapped a few layers of electrical tape below the bracket just in case.

Just ordered one of these for $79 from Golf Direct. I went to PGA SS last night and they had them marked down to $149. I was a little disappointed when I looked at the bag in person. At $79 I guess I will not be too worried but the bag seems cheaply made compared to my Hoofer. Reading all the reviews it seems that it may be holding up fairly well. Other than the zippers, has anyone had any issues? Also how is the balance of the bag loaded on your shoulders? I walk consistently and trying to decide if I should just cancel the order or add another bag to the basement.

I bought a white one used, here on the BST. I just realized that the fabric on mine is starting to tear on a seam near one of the straps where it connects to the bag. I will have to take a pic... I bought a red one for $88 shipped and have had it just waiting. I will be retiring the white one and going forward with the red one. The bag is well balanced and comfortable to wear while carrying. It fits perfectly on a push cart and has lots of storage. I would say the material is a bit thin but still pretty tough, I used my white one a lot. For less than $100, this is a great bag if you carry IMO and has much less tangle than my Ping 4 series did.

Got my Z Four today, walked about 16 holes and I am impressed. Its like a different bag than the one I saw at PGA SS. Better built and sturdier. It is a full pound lighter than my Hoofer 14 and surprisingly carries very well and feels lighter on my shoulders. Getting used to the 4 way divider but it definitely has less club tangle than the Hoofer. Legs on mine do not droop yet. Very pleased for the money. I have 2 Hoofer 14s and I think I am going to let one go on the BST soon.
