Leupold website has a couple new models for 2017, including the GX-5i3 for $625...ouch!

I have to replace my 3i2 (gave it to my son) and was looking at the website...looks like the 4i (with the faceplate) has been eliminated from the line. Though it is still listed in the pdf catalog. The 5 sure looks nice, but that's a lot of $$$!

i've worn a watch for the past several years. can someone explain what a 2017 model promises or offers that a 2014 model wouldn't. accuracy has always been there. is it just fast readings? a jolt or buzz. more zoom. distance to the tenth.

just curious if i ever go the rangefinder route what a newer model offers that something a few years old doesn't and if its worth the exorbitant costs.

I don't the basic ability to push the button and see a yardage has improved all that much in recent years. By the time you got to the Tour V2 (old LCD display) or Z6 (OLED display) in Bushnell or the GX2i/GX3i series in Leupold you're about 99% of the way there in basic functionality for normal golf play. They do get a bit faster over time, apparently but I find a Tour V2 or GX2 to be fast enough for my purposes. Heck even my ancient Medalist only hesitates a fraction of a second before giving the number.

They do vary somewhat in optics. I really like the 5x24 setup of the Tour V2/V3 but if I rode in a cart I'd have one of the ginormous Pro X7 Bushnells. Looking through that thing (believe it is 7x26, yikes!) is like walking all the way to the green instantly.

Not sure how reliable this info is but.....

Bushnell Outdoor Products, makers of the #1 laser rangefinder on the PGA Tour, today introduced its latest innovative laser rangefinder - Pro X2. In an effort to continue catering to over 95 percent of PGA Tour pros and top amateurs who trust Bushnell laser rangefinders, the Pro X2 is engineered with Slope-Switch Technology allowing the golfer to easily toggle in and out of Bushnell's patented slope mode. The new function allows the golfer to utilize Slope to get compensated distances when needed and have a USGA conforming device for tournament play.

"The Pro X2 provides golfers with the best of both worlds with a 2-in-1 Laser Rangefinder. Slope-Switch Technology makes it extremely easy to get compensated distances with a flick of a switch," said Derek Schuman, Bushnell Golf Marketing Manager. "The introduction of the Pro X2 demonstrates our passion to provide Tour players and elite amateur players with the most precise distance measuring devices on the market."

The Pro X2 has rubber armored metal housing that makes the device fully IPX7 waterproof, incredible range capabilities of up to 1,300 yards (450+ yards to a flag), 2nd Generation E.S.P. (Extreme. Speed. Precision.) and PinSeeker with JOLT Technology. Dual Display Technology allows users to easily toggle between the bright red display featuring VDT (Vivid Display Technology) or the crisp black display.

Bushnell Golf also included JOLT Technology amongst the host of features offered in the new Pro X2. When the golfer aims the Pro X2 at the flag, JOLT Technology will provide short, vibrating bursts to reinforce Bushnell's advanced PinSeeker Technology has isolated the target and locked onto the flag. The vibrating bursts provided by JOLT Technology will assure golfers have the exact distance to the flag.

The Pro X2 is also equipped with 2nd generation E.S.P. technology. E.S.P. provides yardage five times faster and more accurately than ever before. Not only has the acquisition speed been increased to a lightning fast level, E.S.P. provides ½ yard accuracy from five to 125 yards, and the distance is displayed to 1/10th of a yard. Having more accurate distances creates the confidence the golfer to hit every shot with confidence.

Pro X2 Features

• Slope-Switch Technology

• Rubber Armored Metal Housing

• IPX& Fully Waterproof

• Duel Display Technology

• PinSeeker W/ Jolt Technology

• Accurate to ½ yard

• 6X Magnification

• Ranges 5-1,300 yards; 450+ to a Flag

• 2nd Generation E.S.P.

• Fast Focus System

• Stable-Grip Technology

The Pro X2 will be available at Bushnell retailer's nationwide beginning in early March. Retail price for the Pro X2 is $499.

Thanks for the info. It looks like their are two models of the Pro X2, one with slope and one without.

Bushnell Pro X2 rangefinder

Golfers will no longer have to worry about keeping track of face plates or scrolling through the settings to disable the slope function on one of Bushnell's rangefinders.

The slope function makes it possible to get the exact yardage to the hole regardless of elevation. However, under the USGA’s revision of rule 14-3, the function cannot be used in competition.

To make it as easy as possible to cycle in and out of the slope function, Bushnell created a slope switch on the side of the Pro X2 rangefinder that allows golfers to utilize the function when they want it and have a USGA conforming device that is legal for tournament play when they need it.

The company's Dual Display Technology is another new feature that allows the device to toggle between a bright red display featuring VFT or crisp black display depending on lighting conditions or user preferences.

The Pro X2 comes standard with Bushnell's JOLT technology that provides short vibrating bursts to reinforce that the rangefinder's PinSeeker technology.

The compact rangefinder boasts 6 times magnification and is accurate to within one yard with 5-1,300 yards ranging performance, including 450-plus yards to the flag.

So, is this it? This, and the 5i3 are the new choices?

Thin year...

All I wanted was a replacement for my ProX7, Im excited about the ProX2 version.

Doesn't look at all like a Pro X7 replacement to me. Vertical form factor, 6x instead of 7x, smaller optical path, it's more like an upgraded Tour X innit?

I thought the same thing as well. I'm going to contact Bushnell to confirm.

Hello GolfWrx,

I'm at the Bushnell booth all week, if you are at the show stop by and I'll be happy to show you our new products. Sorry I can't provide more as I'm about to head to the show, but I can provide a more detailed update when I get back to the office. A quick overview of the new lasers....

Pro X2- this is our Tour X replacement. Instead of the removable face plate, the Pro X2 comes with a switch that allows golfers to easily toggle between Slope and a USGA conforming device. Also, full metal housing so the rangefinder is completely waterproof. Dual display as well (red/black)If you're at the show, I encourage you to stop by and test it out. The unit feels fantastic in your hand.

Tour V4 shift- we decided to modify the previous V4 slope. The biggest concern we had with the V4 slope is having to mode through to change slope/no slope. We incorporated the switch technology on this unit so you simply slide it in and out of slope.

My apologies for the short response. As you can imagine it's a hectic week. Stop by the booth if you can and ask for Ryne. I'll be happy to answer any questions you might have. Thanks!

I picked up the Nikon Coolshot VR 80i. I looks like they took the optical image stabilization technology from their cameras and added it to the golf laser. The image is stable and makes it easier to lock in on a flag.

Unfortunately, we haven't been able to sell horizontal units like the X7 as much as the vertical units. we still have units of the X7 left if interested. It's certainly a great laser

I have the older 1600 slope. They're nice, but if you can't pocket them, they become annoying. At least to me...

14 Pings. Blueprints are incredibly good. Fetch is the most underrated putter on the market. Don't @ me.
