He started with "in pretty sure the ball moved" the jumped on the life boat Greller sent out about oscillation.

Ok so the ref came over, they spoke about the oscillation. The ref said they could check it after but Pádraig said if they check it after and it moved then it would have to be replaced.

The player, if I am remembering this right, does not have to replace the ball if the referee tells the player to continue in this situation, and he also wouldn't be subject to the playing from wrong place penalty.

I love me some paddy. He's an insightful commentator and quirky thinker. I like listening to people who think a bit differently.

And bhelts has it right, he has a very different perspective on things on and off the course. I mean he's the quintessential grinder, and a regular Joe. I mean as regular Joe as a 3 time major champion gets I guess.

Padraig Harrington probably has more insight on players, rules, equipment and technique than any current commentator combined.

 

But I would prefer to see him play well on tour.

He did a talk in Dublin where you could literally ask him any question you wanted, and he must have talked for three or four hours. Was fully interested in what people had to say, never looked bored. He's the only Irish golfer I've met and I've met him three times, not that I know him or anything, but because he makes time for everyone.

I believe when he was on Feherty he said that the change in the groove rule cost him about a shot a round (4 shots per tournament). Did not effect all golfers the same. He claimed he occassionally carried two 7 irons with different grooves depending on the lie he had.
