I was listening to the ForePlay golf podcast and this came up. They were talking to a friend of theirs about his experience on Sunday, and they asked if he saw the guy with his phone out on the putt. The guy they were talking to said "no" and then they showed him a picture. He then recognized the guy because he talked with him for about an hour and got his business card. He was doing something for snapchat for the masters. Hence why he had the phone.

I am pretty sure they don't try and keep you from bringing them in, you just can't get caught using one.

Not true.

Will they not even allow a dr to carry a beeper for legit medical purposes?

I'm still amused by the guy in the red shirt. Saw his reaction during the telecast and it was like he was saying to Sergio "WTF, I could have made that."

He's the embodiment of the "Most Interesting WRXer in the World" thread

That guy was acting like he just lost his house on that putt

Yes, they have specific searches for cell phones and cameras during tournament days.

Not only do they discourage you from bringing in cell phones, the policy is to check everyone before entering with metal detectors and not to let anyone in with one. If caught, the penalty is lifetime forfiture of tickets.

years ago I brought in a small handheld tv....was able to listen to the broadcast via headphone while hiding the tv in my bag...while sitting on the side of the green at 15 and knowing Couples was in contention....i knew he hit it in the water on 13 10 minutes before the crowd saw the scoreboard change!

This is funny stuff.

How big was a "small handheld tv" in 1992? Cell phones of that era were about the size of a lunch box.

Walter: Tell me Bobby, why do you play this game?
Bobby: I play because I love it.
Walter: Well I play for the money. I have to win. That is why every time we face each other I will always beat you.

Personally, I find their policy completely ridiculous.....one of the many reason why I don't care if I ever go to their concentration camp, I meant golf club, to watch a tournament.

If you had the chance to go and this is your reasoning for not, shame on you.

He's just mad that he hasn't won the lottery yet or been offered tickets to go. With that attitude I can't imagine why anyone wouldn't invite him. He sounds like a blast to be around.
