The guy who brought a cell phone into The Masters

Did anyone else notice this?

Right after Serg missed the birdie putt to win in regulation... Scroll to about 1:03 in the video, watch the guy in the red shirt... then look at the guy in the bucket hat just to the right:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5syyjj5s8d8

1) How did he sneak it in?

2) Should he be banned for life?

I get the feeling that some of the people sitting towards the front rows might have had a pass to bring theirs in? For example, there was an official Masters Snapchat story, videos from cell phones of people right by the 18th green. Makes me think some people were allowed to bring in and record on a phone to do that.

The guy in the bucket hat is right next to a camera man and some other people looking like they were more than just spectators (sorry patrons)

I care because it was a big deal when I went. Get caught running = a slap on the wrist. Get caught with a cell phone = death penalty.

This could be a viable explanation.

I was at the Masters on Tuesday for the practice round and a teen/20 year old had a cell phone on him, was talking to someone else with one of the ear-bud things with a cord to the phone. Plain clothed Security guard grabbed him hard and yanked the phone and ear-bud think right out. Escorted him to somewhere, probably outside before he was asked how it got in.

And there's a yellow sticker on the phone. That most likely is a symbol that it's an allowable device.

That's a good catch. Okay, I'm convinced he was part of the promotions/marketing team.

I was on the ropes behind 3 tee Thursday and a guy came over to adjust the camera stationed there and he was on a cell phone. Same sticker. So they definitely allow some of the employees to bring them in but they tag it. Now I'm not sure if that allows camera guy to take photos of the finish... Lol I'd guess no.

Maybe one of his kids put a yellow sticker on his phone.....I think this mystery requires more investigation. Maybe it's the Russians? Or the Mexicans - "you can build a wall but you'll never take our yellow stickers"

I am pretty sure the yellow symbol was a phone cover with the Augusta National logo on it.

I'm still amused by the guy in the red shirt. Saw his reaction during the telecast and it was like he was saying to Sergio "WTF, I could have made that."

He was probably thinking, "Sandy Lyle had that putt in '88 and it broke left!!!".

Or something similar. The thing I love most about the Masters is seeing familiar hole locations used year after year.

Cell phones may be a great convenience but ......... We have a whole generation who literally cannot function without them, even when driving a car!

The world was a better place before we had them.

While cell phones are an annoyance at times, their convenience far outweighs the annoyance factor. I'm at an age where I don't whip out the cell phone to record a moment, but the generation you speak of will do it like it's muscle memory and a learned instinct. Those are the type of people that annoy me the most. Live the moment in real time, so it's imbedded in your brain. Which brings up an entirely different conversation in that generation's brain activity, which at times is.....lacking a bit! And that's being generous.

I am pretty sure they don't try and keep you from bringing them in, you just can't get caught using one.

False. It's just like trying to get on an airplane. You have to empty your pockets and pass through a metal detector.

Walter: Tell me Bobby, why do you play this game?
Bobby: I play because I love it.
Walter: Well I play for the money. I have to win. That is why every time we face each other I will always beat you.

Millennials must have everything documented by photo and posted on FB within 3 hours of the event.

Otherwise it’s just not real.
