I watched Shiels first but have switched over to mostly watching Crossfield. The course vlogs are great, and Lockey is probably the funniest.

They make their money teaching (and youtubing) and can do so partly due to their YouTube status. They don't pay their bills from regional qualifying. I'm not sure how they're supposed to cut back on what keeps the lights on so they can chase this.

If I wanted to, I could be "jacked". But to do it, I'd want to take 6 months off of work so I could exercise and eat right and concentrate on nothing but that. Yet here I am doing laundry for another trip because that's how I pay the mortgage.

Cmon guys, you're smart enough to realize this.

I go through phases where I don't watch much and then others where I binge them all. Golfholics are growing on me but I wish they had better cameras like the others so you could see the ball down instead of just them describing the shot.

Aussie Golf Reviewer is another great vlog channel that gets hardly any views. He's been doing drone flyovers and shot tracer + launch monitor numbers on their course vlogs for a while now. Pretty good mix of talent and lots of good natured ribbing amongst most of the regular players.

Of course you are right. But that is precisely what makes the Shiels/Finch 'Quest for the Open' so much BS.

Enjoy them for lots of reasons. Don't think they will qualify, they know they haven't put in the work but at least they are going to follow through with it and I assume come up with something new after. Crossfield has some interesting takes on swing that I think many of our experts on here might agree with. Still, for me an entertainment and no reason to hate on any if them.

I like Rick and Peter. Won't even watch Crossfield. Disagreed with him once on twitter and he went into all out attack mode-nasty. Someone used the term narcissistic- I would suggest that's fairly accurate.

Agree with you on Crossfield, he can be very precious online. I get that these guys no doubt get more than their fair share of trolls but Crossfield seems to carry an air of, I am better than you (like a young Denis Pugh), and if he can attack then that is what he goes for. Demeans him and given how long he has been on social media for, you would think he would realise that.

He had another outrageous outburst on YouTube comments the other night as well because in his video he said he wants to build his brand so that he can charge even more money for lessons. Someone said they were disappointed to hear him be so callous about it and he attacked the guy for a good 30 mins. Disgusting behaviour and a side I hadn't seen before.

He's already triple digits for his lessons, if he wanted to make more he could "work" more than 2 days per week.

They all have interesting and amusing pieces more often than not. Good on them.

Main thing I'd like to see is less buddy banter between RS and PF and more of a "funny guy, serious guy" routine. RS naturally does "childish" humor (I don't mean that in a bad way) but PF is naturally more thoughtful and he seems to force the repartee. Like to see him do more "serious" stuff like course management, hole analysis, how to practice and diagnose faults from flight etc. etc. etc.

My chat is already scratch, I need coaching on my golf...

Why?

Thousands of folks with 9-5 tee it up for the US Open every spring. They just don't put it on Youtube. It's not BS, it's "Open" golf.

BS? Everything they do all year round is up there for anyone to see, so it's not like they are hiding something or misrepresenting anything. Couldn't be any more "real" and you know exactly what you are getting if you choose to follow them and watch their content. They are also very candid when talking about how they play, what they are working on, what little time they have to practice. Obliviously a lot of folks enjoy what they have to offer.

Edit: meant "obviously", lol - that's pretty funny.

Sure it was the "are golf clubs too expensive" video. The first comment caused mayhem and he had a good old cry about it on Twitter too.

As much as I like his content he does come across as THAT person in school who always got their own way. Something highly unpleasant about his true personality we see in glimpses.
