76. Even coming into 16. Dub-sing-dub finish. Gross.

 

Fun game today. We had 5 in our group (played in like 3:55) so what we'd do is all tee off, then the guy who was "middle" picked his teammates -- either the 2 guys on the right or the two guys on the left so you played 3v2 for the rest of the hole.

 

If you win you get a dot. At the end of the day.... It's a buck a dot and you pay up the ladder. Push is no dot. I gave back about 10 bucks on the last two holes but still came out ahead.

 

On par 3s, ctp gets to pick.

 

Also, if it's your choice, you can go solo. This is big because you win a dot by yourself but you're playing against 4 guys. I got the only one of those on a par 3.

 

And it was all gross, so me and one other guy are low so if you could get us on the same side you'd do that.

 

Blind draw at the end of the day and I split the 18 and had a birdie hold up for a skin, so pretty good day.

 

Probably playing Royal New Kent on November 18th or 19th.

I've played a handful of events at RNK. Its such a great layout but the last couple times I've been down there the conditioning has been really disappointing.

There were articles about this before they even started play today. They'd play the matches regardless.

 

It's been a pretty uninspiring event so far. The US is blowing out the International team, and the course gives me zero jimmie tingles. Seeing Jason Day play like an absolute turd and looks like he doesn't care about being there has probably been the best part.

Played RNK in August on our way back from MB. Condition was super disappointing. Pace of play was terrible on the back so never got to finish, ended up playing the front twice. Hard to recommend based on that fact, but I am usually a strantz fan and this one just didn’t do it for me.

I've seen portions of the course. Looks pretty cool, if a bit interesting with the bunkers and how close you get to some of the houses.

I as supposed to be at Waverly right now but a fever got up to just north of 103 last night. Cool. Daughter been sick, so maybe she got me this time. Looks like a gorgeous day out there.

Going to be a terrible day for ratings with the US about an hour from clinching the cup. I dont know I think the course is pretty decent looking. There's something awesome about the way they have set up the routing - with the 16th a par 3 thats looking straight at the Statue of Liberty in the background and 18 has the whole NYC skyline.

 

The golf itself has mostly been terrible to watch.

 

I cant wait to see what sort of made up changes they make to the event so that that the Internationals dont get smoked. They already made one big points change to make the last one closer, I imagine they will do something else after this embarrassment.

I just can't get excited about the golf course. Some stellar views, but that's about it.

 

I also can't get excited about watching some of the US guys getting super animated, trying to get the crowd yelling, chest bumping etc., when the event has already turned into an embarrassing drubbing of the other squad. Maybe it's just me, but I think it makes you look like a clown when you're out there doing that stuff in a blowout.

 

If they're not going to get rid of it, they need to shorten the damn thing. Make it 2 days - Fourball/Foursomes Saturday, and Singles on Sunday. Less chance of a brutal blowout with fewer points on the board, and maybe allows for more upsets. They could make the teams smaller as well. Depth is weak on the international squad.

Looking at eaglegrint, The El Natural is either going to be second guessing ordering a new driver, or already has it and is a very happy customer. 12/13 fairways heading into 18. Silly.

definitely playing the Hialeah. There's an event on the original. Interested on hearing how it went. That's a funky course.

El Bae was playing the old-a** driver. He definitely hits it straight enough, but could probably pick up 10 yards.

 

I didn't realize til after the round just how few greens I had. Was solid off the tee and was rolling it real nice on the greens, but rough in between the two. I hit a good iron shot on #5 and on #7, but I think that was it for the entire round. I made a mess out of 10 and 12 from spots that were okay and good, respectively. Bae was about the same, but made a few birdies in there. Just not good iron play by anyone today.

 

Putter change continues to deliver. Right now I feel like I'm going to make anything inside 12 feet. Prior to the change, there's no way I'm breaking 90 when I hit 2 GIR like I did today. With how many poor iron shots I hit today, I think they are on the chopping block. Eyeing the Mizuno Hot Metals at the moment.

 

Waverly was in great shape. Greens were firm and fast. Definitely worth getting out there to play right now.

I can't wait to hear what driver I ordered/bought either. News to me. Moral of the story from today: waverly is in fantastic shape, greens are almost as fast as Norbeckistan. Pins were in insane spots. Sully had an A+ driving day and an A+++ putting day. Was 2 blowup holes from beating me straight up.
