Taylormade RBZ Reborn

Has anyone noticed the the rebirth of the TM RBZ driver, fairways, & hybrids? Looks as though they have risen from the ashes. They say RBZ on them but it looks like they have been re-engineered with a new paint job as well. I actually like the new look. I've seen them on a few websites such as DSG & RBG.

 

Anyone have any insight as to why they were relaunched? I loved the Fairways & hybrids from the original launch.

It's simply an entry level price point line for DSG, Golf Galaxy and a couple of other places/big box retailers. TM has done this in the past as has Callaway. There was another thread started on this a few weeks back. You will not find this version of the RBZ line listed on the TM web site.

It even has the newer style Taylormade adapter, so any shaft with the newer Taylormade ( Sldr, jetspeed, R15, M1, M2 will work in this head )

Black looks a bazillion times better than the original white with all the green graphics.

Funny i have been gaming these RBZ hybrids for years since they came out and have never been able to take them out of the bag. Recently threw a new HZRDUS shaft into the 3 and have been thinking about replacing the 4 with an iron. But overall, i love these hybrids.

 

But both mine have been chipping and banged up pretty good over the years. So I literally just yesterday stripped down the 4 and painted it matte black just to see if it would look like. Was thinking of sending it off to one of those custom shops to have it done and thought, why not try the 4 since I may take it out the bag anyway.... plus i wasnt a big fan of the white/green combo.... not sure how it will hold up doing it myself, but i at least know I like the black look. i did 3 layers of paint and 3 layers of clear. so we shall see

I agree with the hybrids being awesome from the RBZ line. They are hard to beat. Nice work with the new paint job.

It looks a little cheap in person. I like the black though. I haven’t had a TM driver since they started doing the white head thing.

Saw them in barrels at PGASS. Displayed like a seasonal promotion or loss leader. Nevertheless, the drivers have a white tie shaft Have a feeling that these will be marked down in January so might be worth the wait.

Decided to take another look at the hybrids since my Callaway XRs have been misbehaving. After on-course demo I decided to buy the 3, 4 and 5 from Global Golf at $129 each. PGASS has them for $159.00.

 

Update: Range and on-course experience is excellent. Hot face and easy to elevate. Great value. May take a flyer on the 3HL.

I still game the white RBZ driver from about 4 yrs ago. Good club. I play the newer black 3 wood. It’s as long as the driver, very hot.
