Ben Hogan TK Forged Wedges. Great Deal!

I keep seeing Ben Hogan Golf promotions that seem to be really great deals. A buddy plays Hogan irons and recently bought the 3 wedge deal for $225. Now BH is offering individual wedges at $75, and if you buy 2 or more, you get free shipping.

 

It's still winter in western New York so he hasn't hit them outside yet, but we go to the local dome frequently, and based off of initial reactions, the wedges are fantastic.

 

Anyone else try the BH wedges? I just bought new S18's along with my new 900 Forged irons. Those BH's are making me rethink my choice.

Since we are now hitting them off a mat, it's hard to judge distance control and spin. But they do feel great. Do you find your 55* delivers what you expect on each shot?

I think they are a really good wedge. If you are on the shallow side of things then their version of the v-sole is really good IMO. Really versatile from a wide variety of lies.

 

Their design to move more weight higher so there is more mass behind the ball on full swings really works. The easiest to control wedge on full shots I've ever hit and it is not close. Really easy to flight down.

 

With that said I do have a gripe. I'm not sure if it is just me or common with these due to the above mentioned design, but I find them hard to get really delicate with. Shots just seem to come off a little hotter than I expect on the short stuff. Overall I think they are great wedges and while I'm experimenting with some others they are still my go to. At 75 bucks they are probably one of the best values in all of golf equipment. I also think the Ft Worth Hi irons are fantastic (no gripes at all) and are an incredible value as well.

So interested in them as well but in all the reviews i read, no one talks about how the sole grind react with the turf. This is why i havent pull the triger yet

Loved Scor wedges. They were essentially these wedges, but I’m sure these have some type of advancement.

 

These are a great value. If my boat wasn’t bearing towards an all ping bag, I would be considering them.

They are superb wedges, I have 49/53/67 and they are great for pitching and full shots. Sole design is very versatile.

Thanks for the heads up brother! I've been asking about and researching v-sole irons on this site for a bit. Don't love the looks of the Cleveland or Srixon offerings though. I LOVE the looks of the Hogan irons and wedges. Ordered 2 wedges based on your information on their promotion. For $150, can't go wrong. If I like how they play, I may go after the PTx irons.

Since we are now hitting them off a mat, it's hard to judge distance control and spin. But they do feel great. Do you find your 55* delivers what you expect on each shot?

I do. I generally play 56* wedges, but happened upon a great deal on this 55* wedge and I find this one to deliver better distance control than anything else I've tried. I've never been real consistent distance-wise with full swings above my trusty 52*, but a reasonable swing with this hits it 85 yards without the dreaded fat shots.

I have these and like them a lot (50-54-58). Haven't used them on soggy ground yet, but they worked fine on full shots on firmer turf. 58 was nice out of the bunkers as well, and chipped with both the 50 and 54 from tight lies with no issue.

 

Well, with no issue I could attribute to the clubs, that is.

I attempted to purchase the two wedges but when I went to check out they were charging me shipping. I wonder if this is due to me being in Canada and it not being economical to ship across the boarder.

I put in a US Address and it works so it must be that they can only ship DHL which ends up being more than the cost of a single wedge. I guess I wont be getting these.

Great wedge and they hold up particularly well. Im quite the ho and on several occasions ive thought...one more round then ill try something else....welp....they made it through several sets of irons, three drivers, and a few putters....my only criticism, more of a shaft thing i think, is right up close i cant make the ball skip stop the way i want. With my rtx 2.0 i can judge it a little better but these stop so fast i end up short sometimes. Meh. First world probs

I had them in the bag for a while. Liked them from around the greens but not so much from 40 yards and out. Couldn't really put my finger on why, but my hunch is the v-sole didn't work well for me on longer shots.

I have them and absolutely love them. Once I got used to the sole they are a breeze to play. The Ft Worth 15 irons are equally as impressive to me.

I have the TK wedges in 48-52-56-62 and love them. Ben Hogan quality is great and pricing is better than most.

Ben Hogan Golf recently announced they are coming out with a new wedge titled the Equilizer. See their website for details. Sounds like it should be out during April. I went to order their wedges as a replacement to my SCOR wedges and one of the sizes was already sold out.

TK wedges are great especially on full length shots, better than scor around the green as well
