Now you gotta replace those Cleveland's and putter for proper Titleist stuff.  It'll all fir well into the Titleist golfbag you carry  😄

I just went Cleveland with sand and lob and Ping for gap.

Huh, has hell frozen over?  You bought new clubs?   If it makes you feel better, I just picked up a Ping Hoofer Lite, so I have nothing to comment about the golf bag.  😛

My 2023 restricted (M/F) 55+ senior membership with no cart at the Sylvan G&CC was $975.00 this year.

This is a cut/paste of a post on the SoCal Forum were someone here was looking at memberships (USD) at private courses in Palm Desert/La Quinta in the Palm Springs area .... I can only dream of winning a lottery to pay/play at these courses.

Covid golf boom, initiation fees in Calgary are double what they were pre pandemic at a lot of mid tier places and the blue bloods waitlist and initiation are continuing to increase as well.  Glencoe is 75 now I think with downtown requirement again which is the same I believe, Earl Grey and Canyon are 45 (2 year waitlist and then 3 years social only at EG). Don't know what Coutnry Hills or Pinebrook are at but I imagine they're both over 30, Priddis, LIV North and Willow are all right around 30

You can get into Country Hills for under $15,000.  Yearly fees are $4800 plus $800 Food and Beverage.  I was lucky just as the pandemic hit in 2020.  I got in (with share) for $7500 (share and yearly dues) + 650 F&B.

Without this, I would never been able to get a membership.

They've raised the minimum share price since (good for me), but it's more affordable than most would imagine.  Original buy in for Country Hills was $25,000 to $30,000

I can't speak to the others, but the prices are outrageous.

Actually not that hard to hit , but yes look very nice! Got a deal on a new set of t100 with some mmt125tx graphite shafts so going to move these

Graphite shafts in the irons are going to be my next "I want it but don't need it" upgrade. I got a set of second hand wedges last year specifically because they had graphite shafts. They just feel so nice. I want a full set.

Forgot bearspaw, I have a few buddies out there, numbers make sense. The clubhouse is awesome now that it's finally done. Some good holes and some not so great ones but it was in good shape everytime I played last year.

How's tee time availability out there, I know they have a large and fairly active membership. Does Talons get a lot more play than ridge or vice versa?

Availability is good (back to normal), now that the greens on the front of the Ridge are back up and operational.

I would say they both get equal play.  I know I try to play them that way as they are different in the way they play (parkland vs links).

I have trouble with tee-times because of my schedule.  I can't get out during the week, and if schedule permits, only once on the weekend.  Weekends are the hardest for times, of course, but if you're flexible at all, you can find times as a single.

Check the jiji for some annual options from members if you haven’t.
On the topic of price. It’s high right now. I don’t mind paying but the conditions have to live up to the fee. That is the tough one for a lot of courses. It’s going to be another busy season and I hope owners are investing in the courses and value conditions.
For private courses in YYC you need a great job and lots of time to make those dues pay off right now.

I believe Pinebrook is right ~$45k initiation.  Great practice facility though.

Don't forget about Mickelson National at $31k, but they along with Bearspaw are still accepting public tee times for the next couple of years.

Mickelson was LIV North lol, ya I got a couple buddies out there so I play a couple times, too far away for me to consider but I do enjoy the course, also windmill would make me think twice probably.

I joined Priddis, young professional so initiation payable over 11 years and dues are very reasonable as I'm only 28.

Congrats.  That one is too far for me, but it's one of the nicest 36 hole establishments we have around Calgary.  I got an invite a few years back from a member, and was able to play both courses

Uhhh, those shenanigans people are all gone in 2020   The current ownership group, none from the previous administration, bought the course and assets from the bank. And proceeded to invest millions more to complete the clubhouse and range. It’s a first rate facility and golf course.
