Wood cherry has been popped

This weekend I played a round with two buddies and one of their fathers. The father had a set of golden bear irons and a Wilson Sam Snead 3 wood. I’ve never hit a wooden headed club before and was very excited when he allowed me to try it. The results were phenomenal. Each shot I hit with it was long and boring. All but one were straight flights. I wish I could describe the feel off the face. It’s like nothing I’ve ever experienced.

Naturally I got home and went right to my local Play it again sports and found two older ping laminated woods. 2 for $5!!! I’ve been in my backyard (butts up to a hole on the public course) ripping them off the turf and tees. I am in love.

 

One is a three wood ping eye 2 with a sandvik titanium shaft labeled S

Second is a wood grain ping zing five wood with a Ping KT-M shaft. No flex indicated

 

Both are the same playing length.

Both your PING woods have registration numbers stamped in the soleplate that are unique to each club.

 

The Reg No location for the PING 3 wood is above the PING, while it is in the lower right (4 o'clock) for the blonde 5 wood

 

Since they work very well for you, it would be nice if you kept those numbers for your records.

Course update, two shots from the turf yesterday yielded two green points. Both from 200-210 out. What a wonderful club.
