ZJ just hit the ball with his practice swing on the 13th tee. Hit it off the tee marker and advanced it 5 feet. Under the new rules, apparently he can replace it.

Then he pipes his tee shot. Impressive mental reset.

Pretty sweet day. Was streaming while working. Signed up a new Member. Had lunch with a certain ex-redskin/ex-cowboy who is (hopefully) bringing in a couple of his buddies. Caught up with some Woodmorons at the Masters drawing party with pizza and beer. Received an amazing gift, quite unexpectedly. Tiger. Got a big hug from my boy. Excited about playing tomorrow.

Golf is so rarely obvious. Molinari just fairway and greening his way to a mega solid 69 and a W just seems so obvious. I don’t see Finau or Tiger shooting 67.

Tiger's whole back 9 was a thing of beauty, but the shots on 12... They went to "jack used to say aim between the two bunkers" and tiger put it right there.

 

It looked like such an overly conservative line, but he made a great par.

In many ways that was so vintage tiger. He is so so so good at winning golf tournaments. Koepka (and others) rinsed his shot on 12 because he Went for the pin. Woods hit his a mile left. Knowing when to avoid mistakes. Vintage tiger. He didn’t drive it perfect but when he was in trouble he’d get himself back into position. That shot from the woods on 11 was absolutely absurd. Hooked iron from 178 toward the water. No fear. Perfect execution. Just the sickest. He made some crazy birdies from bad spots Thursday and Friday. Vintage Tiger. He no longer has vastly superior physical skills*. But he still has the best mind.

 

*I’m stunned he was able to drive it well enough to win.

 

I haven’t checked our pool but in my other the money is doubled at the players and majors. I’m 5th out of 500. Need to grind out a good finish to the year and get another major winner.
