I was getting ready to climb the wall and found my ball in the rough at the bottom of the cliff.

 

Opponent was like, "I really wanted to see you climb that wall."

Seems like ever pro now has a portable track man when they are on the driving range. Watching the live at the masters and showing the people starting to go back out on the driving range and I see the caddies carrying the portable track man 4 systems. Did DJ start the trend?

How are you watching? Masters.com still shows off air on all the channels for me

Watching the golf channel Live from the Masters. They just showed a glimpse of folks getting back on the driving range. But majority of golf channel chatting away.

I'm am very interested in seeing how Spieth plays. He's SO OFF right now, but his track record at Augusta is undeniable. He wasn't playing great last year either and he stormed into a good finish.

He just can't seem to string together 4 good rounds right now. He was sitting in great shape after 2 rounds last week and then went out and shot 42 on the front 9 in the 3rd round. But then he made 5 birdies on the back and shot 31 coming in. He gets his feels right though every time he steps foot in Augusta.

I watched the 2018 recap show on TGC last night and I forgot how good he finished.

 

The problem is, everything is off with his game right now. Its not one thing that he could snap into for the week - its everything tee to green. I think people taking him this week are just gambling like you would on a 20 point underdog in football you really like and you think they can win. Your *want* him to win but absolutely nothing indicates that he is capable of four good rounds right now.

 

I went with Molinari this week. If I had to guess I'd say he'll be 5th or 6th most popular pick behind DJ, Rory, Tiger, Rose.

I like the Molinari pick. I used him, though, and have a few other guys who are good.

 

I don't care about betting on Spieth top 14, but that sounds about right. Always gotta keep in mind the "short field" at Augusta. He has put SOME rounds together lately, as Sneek mentioned and he played all right in match play. But, of course, he didn't drop to 30th in the world (or whatever) because of a couple bad weeks. It's been a while.

Spieth's good rounds this year (first couple last week, opening round at Riviera) have been smoke and mirrors. He wasn't out there lighting it up hitting fairways and greens. I wouldn't be shocked to see him scrape around a good finish this week, though.

I survived. Thank you for all of the #thoughtsandprayers. It was drizzling for the first 2 holes today on #4 but then it was just cloudy the rest of the day. Just glad tomorrow at Augusta it’s supposed to be sunny and in the 80’s. Keep me in your prayers as I must endure yet another tough day.

I honestly wish there was a club closer to this area that had that reputation as a player's club, and they place to go for that weekly competition. I know we all have our sticks, but I haven't encountered a club at Beaver's level around here. They aren't lying when they boast their ability in both depth and numbers...

Question for HiveMores. . .are you keeping a MSGA handicap and a Grint?

 

Right now I'm way off. I'm 2.7 in MSGA and 3.9 in Grint. That's basically the difference between being a 3 and being a 5 at most places. I can't believe Grint can't get their act together on this. It's primarily -- I believe -- from their lack of ability to handle 9 hole scores.

It's annoying that you have to manually enter combined scores on the grint. It can't be hard to implement auto-combine. I've sent that feedback in more than once, along with auto detecting out of season rounds.

 

At least it's gotten better with course and slope ratings, since users have submitted corrections.

This is one of those weird things I dont understand how they havent fixed it. How hard can it be - programatically - to set up the system to combine your nine hole scores? I have to use the GHIN app for my scores and its not that great but it seems to be fine with combining scores like that.

My VSGA and Grint handicaps are currently identical. I've seen maybe 0.3 max variance over the years.

Not hard at all. Even MSGA (which uses GolfNet, not GHIN, does it and their software is crud. Well, to be fair, it used to be crud. They redid the site a few years back and it's much nicer now.)

Yeah, having to combine 9's in the Grint is sucktastic. I don't always do it, if I'm not motivated. My son hasn't done it at all. And we mostly play 9.
