Got some tees, XVs, and a couple gloves from my mom. Well done. Wife got me a pair of Oakleys with the Golf Prizm Dark.

Non golf, some extra accessories for sous-viding. Basically a large tub with an insulated sleeve.

I'll take Tiger and Sung Hyun Park vs Phil and Danielle Kang. They get to play from like 40 yards up though.

Or Tiger and Champ vs. Phil and DJ maybe. Get a couple bombers out there who will take it out of the bag when the other guy is in play.

Or play a two scramble with those guys. Or a 6-6-6. With scramble, best ball and both-ball, or work alt-shot in there.

I've heard you can get them at the pro shop if you ask, but we don't have a barrel sitting out, I don't think. I found more tees this year than I broke.

Don't you country club guys (2more and goose) get free tees? Have they stopped giving free tees?

I took (edit: multiple) handful(edit: s) from Norbeck before I left in February and I still have 80 I haven't used yet. They will last me 10 years probably.

Same.

Those ones they got with the black stripes were great. They very rarely break. I think I went through about 10 tees total this past year.

Now I am gifting myself a bunch of golf stuff in preparation for Pinehurst, mainly clothes.

Are you sure you want to do that Johnny? I mean, shouldn't you wait for Eagle's Pinehurst email?

Ain't nobody got that kind of time!!!

Another Christmas gift to myself - ABC store had Buffalo Trace today! Probably should have grabbed both bottles but only grabbed one...thought someone else should enjoy some BT over the holidays.

Glad to get out today for an hour or so before the rain tomorrow. Course still feels soaked from the last few weeks, tomorrow isnt going to help. But twilight seems to be pushing 530p already so that was great. Had some shop credit to burn but the clothes racks were basically limited to XXXL so its probably going to be a couple new wedges for the new year.

Started reading Jim Hardy's Solid Contact over the weekend, pretty good so far. Been experimenting with some single plane stuff and this book has been great. Seems to have definitely helped with the wedge shots.

Good to hear everyone had great holidays, hope we get a good run of weather here soon so we can all get out.

Seeing as we are at the end of the year, I'm entering this as 2018's "Most Likely to be Incorrect" phrase. I feel like you could have said this in any month of the year and been wrong.

Nope:

I did not buy any TBC tees.

I get free tees, yes. But I also like to have 3 1/4 inch tees for the driver. I go through a pack every couple of seasons due to just losing them.

We have soft tee boxes and the standard lengths tend to topple sometimes if you want to see it up high.

My favorite tees from this year were the novelty ones that Kingsbarns hands out before you tee off, I think I got 6 and still have 5 of them left.

KBtee-225x300.jpg

Only use them on driver holes but it still cracks me up to use them.

Otherwise I have a couple boxes of the plastic ones I buy and that should last me through next season.

Was great to get in 18 each of the past 2 days at Hivemore. I got to the #10 tee box a little after 2pm yesterday and finished up #9 right at 4:50 when the sun was setting. HBD joined up with me on #15-18 after he was done with his round. The greens are mostly looking pretty good right now. Hope the rain today/this weekend doesn't hurt the course too badly. There were still a lot of moist areas on the course.

FYI, Golfworks is running free shipping over $25 orders. A few sales on grips and random shafts- Grafalloy Blue is priced down to $30.

It is raining cats and dogs. Weather looks decent tomorrow but it'll be a slush fest. Patiently waiting on my caddytek push cart via costco. Might break it out if it gets here today/tomorrow morning.

Caddytek, ftw. Nice to hear you'll be doing some walking, HBD.

I played 9 solo yesterday.

18 with 2more, pq and a club guy Wednesday.

I'm in a bad head space right now. I'm not playing well and I'm getting mad when opponents play well. I've lost like 10 stratght matches it seems.

I'm putting like crap and it's totally psychological because I'm putting fine out solo. Stuff like trying to be too precise and and worrying about hitting putts too far past. Can't putt like that.

Part of the problem is too much indoor putting and gate drills and stuff. It's gets you thinking that you can perfect putting and that's just not how I roll. It's insane how much better I putt when I don't read much and just get over the ball and hit it.

I'm totally sick today. Bad shrimp.

And the only golf that is on is Jason Day. That's not helping.

Last night I watched Snedeker's 59 on YouTube. It's so good. He starts out bogey, par par. It totally sneaks up on the announcers, then he misses a shorty on 17 (8) and comes up about 20 feet short with his approach on 18 (9). But he makes that.

Just hits a ton of long putts and then hits everything close on his back 9, including a can job that he didn't even realize.

everyone played really bad wednesday. the collective putting was horrendous. i thought about my round a little bit later and wasn't even that frustrated. i definitely need to adjust to putting with flag in on shortish inside the cup putts. i am pretty sure i am subconsciously trying to avoid it from a line and speed standpoint. i think i may start picking a spot on the flag to hit it off vs a spot on the cup. like 20 footers it has had 0 impact on me. it's also different on the course vs. on the practice green. i think the flag diameter is different.

it's funny how much the same pattern applies every year. come end of october through november i'm just done with golf. early to middle of december i get my desire back. i've really enjoyed playing matches this december vs. worrying about score.
