Women's golf is a hard way to make a living, but for this Symetra Tour winner, it's worth a shot   [https://golfweek.com/2019/08/13/robynn-ree-womens-golf-symetra-tour-phc-classic-milwaukee/?utm_sour

Yes and no. I think Tiger and Phil have skipped TOC in Hawaii for many years.

The LPGA seems like it's in a tough spot here. It's a bit better this year with the Gainbridge tournament that follows. But as you mention, given the logistics there's little reason for many players to show up in USA before March. Add that the first tournament is a bit of a circus act and I can see why attendance suffers.

Personally, I think they should hold some grand opening party/tournament in a more neutral geographic location. Ideally one that also helps participation in the Australian tournaments.

Wouldn't Hawaii be a better option for the opener?

IMG seems more concerned with making as much money as they can rather than helping the athlete be the best they can be in their field. If it means running them ragged after 5 years so be it.

How the Diamond resorts calls some of those AM “celebrities” is beyond me. Public figures perhaps, but celebrities is a bit of a stretch.

Although the TOC is logistically difficult for some, it’s guaranteed money. Show up, have fun and use it as a pre-season warm up. If you’re the Jutanugarns though traveling from Thailand makes little sense. Same for Inbee Park,Ko, and SH Park, Inbee may still do her pre-season work in Australia. No sense in Green traveling to Florida to return home for 2 events. It’s a small purse too. Bump it up to 2 million and it could entice a few more. For the top players Thailand and Honda are higher money grabs and for many closer to home.

Those lower on the money list should get a few early season starts with Gainbridge, the Vic Open, and the Australian Open.

Because it offers entries to LPGA's Vic Open and Women's Australian Open; ALPG (Australian LPGA) Qualifying Tournament (01/19/20-01/21/20) is such a hot ticket.

Notable entries are:

Dottie Ardina (Phi), Pei-Yun Chien (Taiwan), Ayean Cho (Kor), Hye Jin Choi (Kor), Yae Eun Hong (Kor), Nuria Iturrioz (ESP), Kelly Tan (Malaysia), Min A Yoon (KOR).

ANA Inspiration is a joke among majors.

The purses for majors are:

US Women's Open: $5.5 million (could be higher in 2020)

Women's British Open: $4.5 million (could be higher in 2020)

KPMG Women's PGA: $4.3 million

Evian Championship: $4.1 million

ANA Inspiration: $3.1 million

Unfortunately, ANA's contract was extended to 2023 last year.
