Whats WRXers opinion on M6 irons?

Sort of surprised by the mixed reviews on this set of irons . I tested them today. Hands down the longest irons I've ever hit. Probably due to the strong lofts on these bad boys. Whatever it is I was incredibly impressed. I can understand golfers who hit blades that my not like the bulkyness at address, but these irons are no bigger than most GI irons.. I will be ordering a set of these on DDG to save myself some cash. Five star

I've hit badly fit irons with no spin before that go stupid long too. That's not the point of golf. So I can hit a 7 iron 190 carry but with 4k spin. Bullet balls are garbage on course. Don't drink the distance koolaid.

4th year playing for me, bought M4 irons new couldn't break 100 sold it.

Now playing with Apex cf16 sniffing 80, in my case I found the m4 to be very inconsistent for me at least, love the apex and just bought Nike Vapor Fly Pro for this season.

Yep. I haven't been playing long. Started with Speedblades hated them. Moved to players irons faster than most would think I should and was breaking 80 quite quickly. Fitting is essential and playing what makes you confident over the ball. I think TM irons are gimmicky and average.

I suspect the smoke will clear when the M6 gets workout on real turf in the sunshine.

A couple of years back I had hit a Ping G sampler club at Christmas time. I had a "whatever" response.

Then at an early demo day, I got to hit them off real turf. 7i and 5i flew well. Litmus test came when I dropped three balls in 3-inch deep spindly rough. Flag was 175 yards out on practice green. I put one short and one long on the fringe, and then dropped one 6 feet from pin that hit and backed up.

Unfortunately, I wasn't buying irons that year, but the outside shots really made me respect the Ping G. Turf shots tell the truth.

Played the G700 irons this last year. Spent the last few weeks testing Apex19,G410, 919HM/Forged, RougeX & M5/6. I had graphite in the G700 and hated the shaft, hated the sound of the head. Performance? Great. Everything else. Yuck. Been playing M6 with the stock steel and I love the sound/feel ! They nailed the short irons for me and do not miss the hollow sounding Pings one bit. They gave me the best #s, with the Rouge X being a bit longer but dispersed wider for me. Played a few rounds now with the M6 and my signature will be changing to them. I really like having a Titleist or Ping in the bag but for now, the M6 irons are silly easy to use and I am always happy for sound and feel improvement in the SGI category! G410s are lurking however...

I tend to buy clubs 1 year after their release to save money. I went and tried PING G400 irons ( reg shaft) vs the M6 ( KBS 85 reg shaft). the M6s went on average between 8 and 12 yards further with less effort.

I have now played 3 round with them and I love them. The ball has a nice high flight, lands softly and I am hitting irons the same distance I used to 10 years ago.

I love PINGs, never thought I would play any other irons, but I have "out -aged" playing my PING i20s and Ping iE1s.

Hope this helps those thinking about M6 irons.

I played a round with a set of M6 (rentals at PGA Catalunya) and the irons were phenomenal. Easy to hit, straight and very, very long. They felt nice too. My set only went down to a 5 iron, but the 5 iron was so good I used it on several tees, and even from a bunker (hit the green from 180m, a shot I will cherish for a long time). I’ve looked for a 3 or 4 iron to replace my hybrid but never found one.

I hit em and liked em. More forgiving than P790 and similar distance. The feel is honestly pretty comparable as well. For me personally, they didn’t have the “it” factor - but performance wise, they’re a real solid club.

TaylorMade makes great irons. The 770 is my favorite cavity back.

A lot of these posts are just pretentious. I haven’t hit the M6, but I’ve played the M5 and they are excellent. Like them way better than the foamed p790. And way better than the Mizuno 919 lineup, which except for the Tour head have blades so long they look like hockey sticks — 80 mm or longer. My buddy at GG says the M5 was one of their top sellers, right behind the 790, and that customers were very happy.

Do not buy irons based on golfwrx opinions. Try the M5/M6 and decide for yourself. The M5 is an excellent shape and very easy to play. Consistent distances, more so than the 790. The M6 is larger but a quality iron. The Speedbridge is like the iron form of Jailbreak. It’s there to give structure.

Used a rental set, liked 'em, bought a graphite M6 set after injuries slowed my swing last year. I'm a 13 hi, 67 year old hacker. M6s served me well over the summer. As long as anything I've hit. Many went straight. Those that didn't weren't the fault of the clubs. Had a couple of memorable shots with them. Not sure why they draw some real anger. I found them to perform well and they held up fine. May not be to your taste---they're big and multi-material--but they do what they're supposed to do. Only thing I did not like was the feel. Someone called them soft. I didn't find them so--I thought they were a bit harsh. Cobra F9s, for example, feel better. My injuries are much improved, so I'm going to another fitting and maybe something new in the offing. But if M6s interest you, go check 'em out. They worked for me.
