Well, I am only speculating -- but there is "something" going on with So Yeon. A "secret marriage" is not that wild or fanciful -- she is a very well known "celebrity golfer" in her native South Korea -- so yes, I do not think that it is too much of a stretch for her to want some normalcy and privacy -- if she was actually getting married. I mean, who would want that kind of attention?

Nonetheless, I did see a few photos of SYR with a ring on and lets not forget that Inbee, one of her best mates, recently got married (approximately 18 mos. ago?) . Remember, only So Yeon truly knows ...the rest is just conjecture.

Secret marriage is not the way to achieve normalcy and privacy IMO and I think most would agree. So Yeon is a celebrity but she is not like a mega idol or anything. Paparazzi are not chasing her down the street or hiding in her garbage cans. It's exceptionally normal and not scandalous in the least for a woman of So Yeon's age to get married or even to have a boyfriend. The Korean public will not persecute. Inbee is a considerably bigger star than So Yeon, she got married at the height of her career and nobody lost their mind. I agree that something seems up with So Yeon though.

> The commentators don't know what they're talking about. One could argue players don't play as well, if they play too often; but there isn't any mathematical relationship in rankings.

> Brooke's issue is that she either won or she finished outside of top 3. In the past 24 rolling months; she won 5 times but had only 4 additional top 3 finishes.

> The lion share of ranking points are awarded to top 3 players. The difference between solo third and solo tenth is 26%, more than the difference between solo tenth and missing cut, 14%.

Randell Mell had no clues what he's talking about in this article "Henderson among those chasing world No. 1 at LA Open."

[https://golfchannel.com/news/brooke-henderson-among-those-chasing-world-no-1-la-open](https://www.golfchannel.com/news/brooke-henderson-among-those-chasing-world-no-1-la-open "https://golfchannel.com/news/brooke-henderson-among-those-chasing-world-no-1-la-open")

Brooke won't be No. 1 even if she wins the next two weeks and Jin Young Ko misses both cuts.

Secret marriages for a subset of celebs in Korea/Japan are fairly common. The Idol culutre there can be extreme. Celebs income is so heavily based on being single that rumors of them dating someone is enough to trigger massive amounts of hate mail and threats, cause concerts and other events they are putting on to bomb, and get dropped by their agencies. Stuff like the person dating is super strictly controlled and attempted to be kept hidden for as long as possible, even contracts to keep them single for the duration of a tour or their album deals. It was a super interesting tear down of the Idol culture, its pretty bizarre looking at it from my view but, its not like we dont have crazy celebrity things here either. I cant even begin to count the number of times an athlete got absurd amounts of hate for a poor performance because they were dating someone. Romo and Jessica Simpson had FBI protection for a while because of a credible threats they got years and years ago.

So Yeon might think that her brand is worth more if she is single? I dont know what her brand even is in korea but its not exactly unheard of to keep it a secret.

Not trying to be a Debbie Downer, but the FBI does not do this. They most certainly did not have FBI protection. Local off-duty police hired outside of their employment? Perhaps, but not FBI. Off topic I know, my apologies.
