I don’t remember what it cost but it was like $10-11, which wasn’t too bad since the mat range down the street was like $8-9. Plus the short practice area used to be free and now you have to pay for it. Silly.

To be fair, do you know any public ranges in south OC that is not private to have great range balls?

Hawaii Here, so cost of living is generally ridiculous.

My backyard local range. $7 for a bucket of about 50 balls

Koolina (Lotte championship) - $5 for a bucket of 35 balls, $9 for a bucket of 70 balls

I mean are these $9 for 38 balls Xouts or Titleist practice. or are they recycled old bust up or range limited balls....

Not going to lie $9 for 38 sounds nuts....

You been to River View golf course in Santa Ana. Don't ask me why I was there, but there range balls are surprisingly good

> I have the day off, was heading to Lowe’s, decided to stop at a nearby range i used as a kid to hit a few balls w my ping eye 2s that i gave a total make over this winter. This range Has had some recent upgrades, all weather turf, reduced the overall size added more greens as targets, automated ball dispenser.

That's really high. I live in the Bay Area where everything is expensive Larges can range $13-17 for 120-140 balls

even for me that's high, id rather go play the local 9 hole $12-15 or I can play twilight $10-12 (I have one of those discount memberships at certain courses)

> Remember this when you wonder why people think that golf is only for the wealthy. It's really, really, really hard to practice when doing so costs $10 a pop. It's hard to justify spending $10 to hit 30 balls with my feet together, or just little wristy swings, or doing the one-foot-forward drill...

This is one of the most real posts about driving ranges. This is also why I bought a mat and built a small platform for it. I can take it to any local park and set it up with a laundry basket set out at 85yds. I am like you, I am not going to spend $9 for a medium bucket for simple drills that don't travel far at all.

I am a decent player and my troubles are the same as most, the 100yds and in. You don't need a full range to work on those shots and I find it pointless to spend that kind of money when I want to hit 50 shots at 50yds.

> this is where i argue with people that hate on Players Club. $32/mo and then you get a free LARGE bucket every day, and they'll give you however many extra buckets you want. Each bucket regularly costs $12 for large fwiw

I love my players pass, but with the only 3 courses in the rotation. It is starting to get really impacted. I love that it pays for itself in one weekend round and a bucket of balls!
