Rain vests?

Does anyone know of manufacturer who makes a real waterproof rain vest?

Not a half-armed thing. Are real sleeveless vest. Made of something like Gortex kinda thing.

FootJoy certainly used to a sleeveless waterproof jacket that had cut off sleeves if that make sense. The sleeves run down to the elbow. I have one and really like it. I also have an Oscar Jacobsen sleeveless vest which is really good. It is so so light and had a good amount of stretch on it. I really rate both of them.

That soft shell is not actually waterproof. I have one and FJ describe it as water resistant and I can speak to being out in the rain with it on. It does a decent job of keeping you dry and was good for warm days when the rain started. In a properly heavy downpour though, it won’t be waterproof.

I don't think they make a vest any more but I have a FJ Dryjoy vest that is waterproof. Granted it is probably 12 years old now. I did a quick glance on Ebay and see some. Again, not sure if they are waterproof these days.

If you're looking for something that is functional and inexpensive, check out the Carnoustic Jones rain vest at TGW. Its $39.99. I bought one because it was so cheap and although I haven't worn it in the rain, I've put under my faucet and rain water on it and it works.

Plenty of "water repellent" vest out there but we all know thats that the same as "waterproof", but in light rain conditions, they hold up just fine as I have a few water repellant jackets.

As mentioned above, the ping zero gravity is fully waterproof (I think 3 year warranty). I have a half zip pullover and it is very light and stretches well for rain gear

My wife and I both have Zero Restriction full zip jackets that have removable arms to convert to a vest. That may be an option.
