Good observations!

Stage III Pro Test is scheduled for November 5-8 and Q-Series is scheduled to end on November 2. Japan time will be 14 hours ahead of US East Coast at that time.

Will Yuka rush to Japan if she finishes inside top 45 and has already qualified for LPGA 2020?

I think their strategy is to give themselves the most options. Why focus on one tour at this point if they can manage two or more? They can then decide what gives them the best opportunities.

It might have something to do with Yealimi Noh.

They probably know each other, Yuka is one month older and they've been top juniors for a while.

Yealimi turned pro this year and earned about $230,000 in prize money thus far. In addition, she signed two substantial endorsements with Hana Financial Group and Descente. As a result, Yealimi's parents closed their Japanese restaurant in Concord, California to follow and manage Yealimi's professional golf career full time.

Yuka's parents, Masa and Fritzie, could do the same thing.

I think you might have nailed it or at least similar/close to it... I have a strong feeling the father is quite highly involved (the mother less so). Hence the JLPGA is there not necessarily as a fallback... I am also wondering how the sponsor(s) eventually would line up and Yealimi's situation is potentially Yuka's too (especially in Japan, just look at Naomi Osaka - though obviously Yuka isn't as renowned as Osaka). It would be interesting to see if Yuka makes it to LPGA and if she still goes to JLPGA last stage... (and I think she'll go to JLPGA to try to qualify even if she already has a card in LPGA (let's assume this scenario as best case), since turning pro = sponsorships that are more available for her in Japan than Philippines so she needs to get exposure in JLPGA either way)...

The similarity between Yuka and Yealimi is uncanny!

Yealimi is an American and has been representing the US in international competitions; but her endorsements have come from Korea, her parents' homeland.

Yuka has been representing the Philippines; but her best endorsement opportunities are in Japan, not the Philippines or the USA.

Honestly, one week recovery from jetlagsis not a problem for these youngsters... But yes, missing the cut is not going to be a downer for these 2 considering what they're about to go through the next few weeks. Heck, I wouldn't be suprised to see these 2 immediately go do practice rounds after they step off the plane. Now, whether they perform or not, that remains to be seen (but I truly think these 2 advance to the finals anyway).

Well, that was different.

Volunteers and coaches outnumbered spectators.

No ropes, so could cut across fairways and pretty much go anywhere.

Talked a little bit with Erica Shepherd’s Mom and a lot with Sierra Brooks’ Uncle.

Think I saw the next great Swedish player, Linn Grant from Arizona State.

Andrea Lee leads with -4 at Molly Collegiate Invitational at Portland, Oregon; Albane Valenzuela is +3 and T6.

This is a two round event.

Life hasn't been easy for Cheyenne Woods

At 149th on the money list, @Cheyenne_Woods is playing the waiting game before Q-Series.

Woods’ Monday-qualifier appearance in Indy was a last-ditch effort to secure her card, or at least avoid returning to Stage II of the LPGA’s Qualifying Tournament in mid-October. After this week’s Volunteers of America Classic, players positioned Nos. 101-150 on the Money List will be forced to return to Q-Series in order to retain their cards. For those who finish outside the top 150 on the Money List, they’ll first have to make it through Stage II before competing in the eight-round gauntlet at Pinehurst known as Q-Series.

It's was a 3 rounder after all.

Andrea Lee won it with -6; Albane Valenzuela was -2 and third.

Both were sharp, a good tune up for Stage II.

Jennifer Chang was -6 and T3 at NCAA Windy City Collegiate Championship, September 30- October 1.

Most Stage II golfers are in good form less than two weeks ahead of the competition.

Hope she's not peaking too soon (if there's such a thing in competitive golf) and that she keeps healthy! :)

Certainly, health is paramount the next month or so.

It's always better to be in good form going into a war with a series of battles.

Andrea Lee is flying

The Cardinal senior broke the women’s college golf program record with her ninth career victory on Tuesday at the Molly Collegiate Invitational at Waverley Country Club in Portland, Oregon, surpassing Mhairi McKay, who held the previous mark of eight.

Leader Ha Na Jang is -8; she's -5 through 13 in round 2.

The youngsters had a good day; Yuka shot -3 in round 2 and is -3 and T14, Yealimi shot -5 and is -2 and T18, Atthaya shot -3 and is -2 and T18.

A Yean Cho shot even and is -1 and T26.

Yealimi improved by 8 shots from round 1 to round 2; she'll be in much better mind frame come Monday October 14.

Updates:

Ha Na shot -7 and leads with -10.

Yealimi and Atthaya are T16 and A Yean is T24.

Ji Yeong Kim2 is -6 through 17; she's -11 and leads by 1.

Yealimi put herself in a box again; ideally she shoots under par tomorrow to get ready for Stage II.
