Who Has Played the 2019 Volvik S4? Reviews?

Title says it all. I played the previous iteration, and was not a fan. Just wondering about the new version. Thanks.

I played new S3 and it was bit softer than previous one but at that price $50/dozen, I don't think I will buy it.

They are pricing themselves out of the market in North America. In Canada $60, same price as TP5, Bridgestone Tour Balls, Chromesoft and $10 more than Z-Stars. Prov1 full price is only $5 more, and Prov1 "practice" balls which play the same can be had for $40 almost all the time. If they want golfers to dip a toe and try them, Volvik will have to knock $10 off the price to at least put it level with Z-Star.

I'd like to try a sleeve of S3's or S4's next spring if Golftown would break up a box.

They had a plan and it backfired in the most public manor possible. They signed Bubba Watson thinking that was their ticket. He then played so poorly that year that he considered quitting the game. He blamed the ball change, ditched his contract with Volvik and went back to Titleist and immediately started winning again. I can't think of a more public slap in the face than that. Haven't seen them on tour since.

I totally agree that volvik had one of worst PR with Watson but I'm not sure if Watson handled the thing perfectly.

His performance difference (btwn the years) might have been from mental part of his game and not the ball switch. The way he voided contract,supposedly without giving volvik any heads-up, is unprofessional at the least.

OK, it's not a good value and the Watson collab was a disaster. BTW, that was the old version of the S4. Would appreciate hearing from **someone who has actually played** the '19 ball. It had some impressive numbers on the MGS ball review.

I was a big fan of the Crystal when Volvik came to Australia, however after a bit of success, they increased the prices ridiculously. I left a few comments over here years ago. The lost me (and many more) as customer. Recently they dropped a bit the prices but there are better cost effective options out there.

Finally I got to play new S4. If you are looking for spinny ball on green, this is it. It is definitely softer, longer and straighter than previous S4. For me, it spins too much. I will test new S3 tomorrow.

Never seen them. UK retailers still trying to flog the 3-4 year old model at V1 prices. A shame as the VIBE is a very good ball.

Vibe in no longer around in US. Successor (in different name) will come out soon as mid $30 range.

I love the Vibe. Great performing ball and the yellow version has, in my opinion, the gold standard for yellow urethane covers. Color/visibility, smoothness (not flaky), are outstanding.
