The non Rolex French Open moves to the same week as the FedEx WGC, so the Euros can get Ryder Cup points in Memphis

 

British Masters will be contested the same week as the Men's Olympic golf event and there will be another British event added the week after.

 

Golf 6s still alive, Shot Clock Masters still dead and Belgian Knockout missing

 

Rory McIlroy will note that the Tour Championship will be played the same week as The OMEGA Masters.

 

Ryder Cup qualifying ends at the BMW PGA Championship and the Ryder Cup is two weeks later.

Interesting to see how the WGC being two weeks before the Open and a week before the Scottish will effect the Scottish. Not many players would want to be playing their third week in a row at The Open but then if you do, you have the benefit of having played competitive links golf the week before The Open.

 

I am also now wondering if Rory's comments last week where actually brought out due to frustration that Crans-sur-Sierre is the same week as the Tour Championship.

Sadly, you are correct. And many phone apps deliver a small subset of the functionality available on computers.

100%, I hate “browsing” the internet on my phone. Tablet or laptop all day long for me and I suspect that many people are exactly the same.

The thing that might be bugging me the most about the PGA Tour cramming all of their events in an eight month stretch is that they are really stepping on the toes of the great European Tour events. A WGC, then the Scottish Open, then the Open Championship back to back to back? Dont like that at all. The Omega Masters the same week as the Tour Championship? Dont like that at all.

 

I know it wouldnt happen, but Id be happy to see them dump one of the WGC's.

Doesn't the PGA Tour season go for 12 months (Sept - August)?

Suspect the unnamed event the week after the British Masters may be at the new course JCB have built just outside their HQ. Played this morning with a chap who works there, he sounded pretty convinced, as its during JCB s 3 week shutdown.

 

Hope so, as by all accounts it's a stunning track.

I’ve heard the same...friend played there a few weeks ago and reckons it’s one of the best courses he’s played. Would be nice to have a pro tournament on the doorstep again!
