AP2 718 or P760?

I've demo'd both and personally preferred the feel of the P760. I love the look and idea of Titleist irons but for the life of me, I've never (and this goes back to the DCI's) been able to jive with the feel of them. Conversely, not a huge fan of the look of the 760's but quite like the feel.

Both are great sets and I can't imagine you'd be unhappy with whichever one feels best to you.

These guys I met recently are opening a fitting studio selling boutique gear. I took some irons down there to hit today (716 MB, Apex MB18, and MP20 MB) and also tried out some of their Miuras and the one guy (who is a + cap playing on a mini tour) got me to try his 718 AP2 with X100 AMT and the thing was amazing. Ball speed and distance time after time. 7 iron was 124 ball speed over and over for me at just over 90mph. It was like I couldn't miss. Makes you wonder why I and many on here bother with blades. P760 not selling that well AP2 is the GOAT tweener iron for good players IMO.

What are the reasons for the P760 not selling? I obviously have a taylormade bias for whatever reason, but wouldn't have a problem going to the AP2 (tons of players use them!).

Saw some of the other irons you tested. Is there a reason why you didn't try the Z785. IMO, one of the best out there in all categories, especially feel. I know lots of folks state the 785's don't spin enough. I find that they spin enough, especially with the descent angle that they come down at.

Not sure if they had those in a demo...I did hit the 585 and they felt awesome, but the lofts are a little stronger than I am looking for. Trying to keep similar distances of my current set.

Not sure about the AP2, but I recently switched from MP-54 to the P760s. Feel isnt quite as soft, but the ball flight is certainly lower, even going from KBS C Taper to Modus 120. While the old MPs felt like I was hitting marshmallows, the P760s feel like burnt marshmallows... still soft, but a little more crisp to em.

Do you like the P760 better?

718 AP2 kicked my MP18 MMC out of the bag. Best balance of consistency, feel, and forgiveness. Not the best in any of these areas, but as a total package.....it’s a challenge to beat.

I like the ball flight of the P760 better. I think I preferred the Mizuno feel, but, am getting used to these given the the lower flight. If I had to do it over again (clubs are only 3 months old), I wouldve waited to give the new Mizunos a try. By no means do I think the TM feel bad, just not what I've used for 15 years...

I've hit the AP2 and p760. I think they are both very similar. The AP2's have a slightly thinner top line, slightly more offset and 1 degree weaker lofts. The p760's are as beautiful looking at address as the AP2s, and they felt very similar to the Titleists. I ordered a set of p760's (been playing 714CB for 4 years now) because of the stronger lofts, small heads and the most minimal offset I could find other than in muscleback irons. I plan to adjust lie angles to match my current gamers, and may strengthen lofts 1* to gain 2-3 yards per iron.
