Cobra F8 vs F9 fairway experiences?

Couple questions for those that have experience with both Cobra fairway woods, is there a big difference between the two? Should I wait for the F9 to drop in price with the new release in January? And where's the cheapest site to buy?

I have both an F8 5 wood an F9 7 wood. I played an F8 3 wood for a year and gave that to my son who still has it in the bag. I have different shafts in all of them so it's not apples to apples, but these have all been some of my favorite clubs. I don't notice any massive differences. They've all been trusted gamers and I'm completely happy with all of them. The F9 7 wood seems to be just the slightest bit more automatic - meaning I never seem to mishit it. If I were buying new I'd get an F9, but if I found a great deal on an F8 I wouldn't turn it down.

I own the F9, I believe the F9 only comes in one variant and it's a small, low launching head.

F8 had the regular one and the +

If you go from F8 to F9 just be aware the F9 plays more like a tour head. Very shallow and small face

I play the F8 3 wood and an F9 5 wood and there really isn’t much of a difference other than looks. Both are very good clubs

I have an F9 3w that is awesome. I just bought a F9 5w from Rock bottom today with the cyber monday deal, extra 20% off the reduced price. Sucks they are charging tax now, though. I bought a set of mizuno irons from them in September and they didn't charge tax then.

Not far off, really. I also have the standard F9 and it has been outstanding, but it is on the smaller side for a standard 3 wood. I like it because it’s the rare 3 wood I can hit off almost any lie, but it also was small enough that I didn’t feel the need to go to the Tour head. Lots of players love that head. I might try it in a 5 wood. The one thing I am doing is sticking with Cobra fairways. The F series is really a great match for me and they sound and feel is top-notch.

is the consensus that if i want to play a f9 4wd that i go with the 14.5 and turn it up to 16 or go with the 5-6 wood and turn it down?

I have the F8 4/5 wood with the stock (reg. flex ) shaft. Find it easy to elevate from turf but more times than not is a hook machine for me. I'm going to change out the stock grip as it feels like a pencil in my hands. Normally I play a standard sized grip but the stock grip just feels smaller than "standard".

I have a Callaway v series 3 wood as an alternative (r flex as well) and do not have the hooks.

 

Does anyone else out there experience the same issues with the club?

@HoosierMizuno I also like 4 woods. I went with the 14.5 with the thought that I would need to loft up but it worked great at standard loft so I have not touched it. It launches very easy off any lie. The rails are for real.@propman i do find the stock Atmos Blue will tend to move more left than I like (I prefer a ‘fall to the left’ ball flight, not a strong draw) but I swapped in the Tour Spec Atmos 7 and that extra stiffness solved it. And I changed grips to Winn Dri-Tac plus two wraps, which is my standard. (Yeah, I know the Dri-Tacs wear faster but they are so comfortable. Two wraps under a standard firms them up a bit and I like the feel.)

The F9 is fantastic. So easy to hit off the deck and it goes a long way. Loved it with the Atmos blue 7s.
