Knee Brace USGA conforming???

Had my left ACL repaired a decade ago. Got fitted for the "NFL lineman" donjoy knee brace and it really helps my golf game. It is pretty bulky. I can cover it up decently with pants.

I play the mini tour circuit here in central Florida. Does anyone know if these knee braces are USGA conforming? Never seen anyone play with one on before.

I would be baffled if that wasn't conforming. You wear it for a medical reason - they can't say no to that.

I think it comes down to intent. If you are using it to help your swing instead of having it help your swing as a side effect it could be deemed a training aid.

 

I know someone who wears an elbow sleeve for "medical reasons" but having played with him a lot a long time ago I know he does it so his left elbow doesn't breakdown. Hard to prove though. So he keeps getting to use it.

Definitely need it if I’m walking 18. Some of the mini tour events here in Orlando allow us to use carts. My main concern is playing USGA sanctioned events. I have sent a query on the website but never received a definitive answer.

Wearing the brace makes my leg more stable. Therefore it helps me swing better.

Legitimately, it would be absolutely BS if someone gave you sh*t over a brace holding your knee together. Should be fine...

Key words here are "definitely need it". Could you not walk 18 without it? Also, by definition any medical thing that is worn helps your swing lol - it's kind of the whole point of wearing it so you can actually play properly.

Just about every picture of MW on the course shows bunches of kinesio tape. You should be fine.

In college we had someone on our team tear his ACL. He wore a brace all year until he could get surgery. Even wore it in the National Championship. It’s gotta be legal
