Sam is a good dude. Hmmm original triple track? I feel like that putter could do with a little paint fill.

My first night of golf league kicks off tomorrow! Super excited to get back to some regularly scheduled golf and see some of the guys again. New irons arrived and they are going in the bag to test out tomorrow. I am 98% sure they will need to be reshafted (currently have KBS C Taper 125 S+), but going to try them out as-is at least once. I have never been a utility iron guy, but the U500 looks just like a 4 iron and I am a big fan of the look. Can't wait to get it out and see how it does on the course.

New Titleist set with KBS C Taper 125 S+

5i - T200

6-9 - T100

You’re going to like that Mavrik. Curious if you’ve tried the Rogue White shaft yet? Sounds like you like a little spin and mid launch, like me. I put the 60 in my Mavrik driver and the 70 in the Mavrik 3 wood and they have been very stable but with a smooth feel.

Got a few new things in for testing here! Excited to try out the Pro vs MCI iron shafts. The putter shaft is really interesting as well, I remember seeing it down at the PGA Show 2 years ago and wanting to try it out. I need to find a putter with a plumbers neck though, seems like all of mine are single or double bend!

I think I will like the Pro115 and the MCI 100 more just because of the weight. But we will see when I get them built up and compare side-by-side. MCI wedge shafts are for sure on the list, Johnny has been raving about his for awhile now!

New shaft for the Mavrik SZ 3 wood just showed up today. PX HZRDUS Red is a great shaft, but the Ventus Red just has a smoother feel with slightly more consistent results. Also can't complain about the metallic red paint, looks way better in person!

Working on shafting up the Pro 95, 115, and the MCI 100. I thought it was going to rain last night so I didn't rush to do it.

I did take the MC Putter shaft out though and it was actually really good. I will describe it as a mix between the BGT Stability and the UST Frequency Filtered. The first thing I noticed indoors was that the vibration was softened on impact, yet the audible click stays the same. So you can hear and feel when you don't connect with the center of the face, but the feel to the hands is softened. I really like that if you play a ball like the ProV1x that is a little on the firmer side. The MC Putter is still really stable and consistent. I putter really well last night but on #3 I had a 12ft right-to-left putt that I hit off the toe and I just figured it was going to be right and short of the hole. I was shocked when it tricked in on the left side, never expected it to get anywhere near the hole.

Right now, I have to say it is pretty darn good!

So update on the bag, I know it has been awhile!

Titleist T100 Irons

Irons have been reshafted with Nippon Modus 125 and I have been really happy with the change. The Modus is just a smoother shaft with more feel and liveliness through the swing. Ballflight is higher, but carry distance is the same or slightly longer compared to the previous KBS C Taper 125 S+.

Fujikura MCI 100X

I put this in the T100 7 iron (mixing shafts in the set!) and it has to be one of the smoothest shafts I have ever hit. Extremely solid feel that is easy to load and feel softer than it is, but it is a stout shaft! Consistent as anything I have ever hit, distance control is flat out repeatable. Launch is lower than the Modus 125 and overall ball flight is flatter while shots easily hold the green with minimal release. I would classify the shaft as a true mid launch and they seem to be fairly low spin. If you have any shoulder, wrist, or elbow injuries the MCI will be great for reducing vibration and making it easier on those joints.

Tour Edge Exotics EXS Pro hybrid

It's in the bag. I don't know what else I can say about it other than it is good enough to kick the old reliable Big Bertha 815 out. Smaller size and rounded shape fits my eye great but still offers more forgiveness then you would think. EXS Pro has been anti-left and I have to really remember to trust the club and not aim further right, just point it down the middle and pull the trigger. Flight is flatter than my 815 but still higher flight than a 3-4 iron for me. Sound was a little tinny for my ear, but tossing 2g of hotmelt near the face corrected that with no issues. Face is hot and shots off the toe and heel really carry father than you would expect. Playing a par 5 I hit one off the toe, low, and figured it would be left greenside bunker, but nope! Hit the left side of the green and rolled to the back fringe.

Pt2 coming soon!

How do the MCI compare to the MMT? Feel, dispersion, flight, and price?

I don't think he's tried the MMT's as Mitsu told him they don't want guys that play golf in sandals to use them. Their words not mine haha.

T100 irons are great, they finished 2nd in my iron test and the only reason i didn't go with them was because I could get my honma's as heads only which made life easier.

They also said they’d only give out samples to guys with a single digit index. He tried to appeal since he shoots -3 through 15 holes then has “a few bad holes” to finish +10 but they weren’t having it.

I have not hit the MMT yet, was really holding out to see if they made a 125 Stiff later in the year! And yes, Mitsubishi totally said that MMT are only for guys who wear shoes, not flip flops!

It was in the bag over the weekend and it wasn't magical. Thinking I might head back to the Odyssey Black Ten with the Stability shaft for my weekend golf adventures!

I only go under par in my 9-hole league!

Welll now that you have the graphite design hyper active (ADHD) shaft, I am expecting a bit more action to your swing.. Something along the lines of Ho Sung Choi... Or maybe it will get distracted and want to go roller skating right in the middle of it...

It has been a long time without a bag update, but here is where we stand. Still have a few things being tested, but this is what I would go to battle with if I had to play for money. I am still testing out the Fujikura Ventus HB, Honma TR21 fairway + hybrid, and Nippon Formula Regio B+ so those could change after this weekend!

@knudson81 can you do a comparison with the Fujikura Ventus Red[1] vs. a Mitsubishi AV Raw Orange[2] in your fairway wood?

[1] https://fujikuragolf.com/woods/ventus

[2] https://www.mca-golf.com/products/av-raw-orange

I haven't hit the RAW Orange in a fairway, only driver. But I can compare Ventus Red 6x vs Tensei AV RAW Orange 65 TX in driver. Ventus Red is definitely higher launching and has more spin. Don't be deceived by its "High launch / mid spin" description, I would consider it more mid/high launch and mid spin. Orange felt the stiffest out of the 3 RAW shafts, it took a lot to load and didn't offer a big feeling of "kick" at impact. Launch on Orange was low, just a touch higher than Ventus Black 6x, and seemed to be very low spin. Both shafts offer very tight dispersion and consistency. I just threw them on my swingweight scale and both hit the same D2 with a Mavrik SZ, shafts are same length and have same grip.

I don't hit my 3w very high, so for me Ventus Red 7x is a much better fit.
