Mizuno RB Tour X. Spin monster

After seeing these golf balls come out late last year I did not give them much thought. Then I saw the TXG reviews and that they were seeing spin increases of approximately 300-400 rpms with a driver and 800-1000 rpms on irons. It appeared as if these gains were showing across the board with different swing speeds as well. As a lower spinning player I figured I’d give them a shot against my TP5x and XV golf balls I had been playing. Here are some screen shots of GC quad data. End result was an increase of nearly 1100 spin on my 7 iron and 500 on my driver. No other change was made in settings or swing and all swings were done within 30 min from start to end.

Red numbers indicate T100s w/ Tp5x ball, yellow number is with the srixon XV ball, blue is Mizuno RB tour X ball

I know this is not a large sample size but you can see there is a substantial difference between just golf balls being switched out. Take it for what it is and if you are struggling to find a little more spin and don’t want to make a shaft change to do get it give this a shot first.

Do you find them very non-durable, prone to scuffing and bruising? When they first came out the guy in our pro shop (who is a Mizuno guy) gave me a sleeve to try. I guess I didn't play them enough to judge differences in spin because after two rounds I had lost one ball and the other two each looked like it had been played for 72 holes or something. I was very disappointed by the durability and decided not to buy a dozen to give them a real tryout. I routinely play a Pro V1x for 36 or even 54 holes and these seemed like they'd be one round and done.

Would love to comment on this but it’s been awhile since I’ve played a round without losing at least one ball.

I will say that I hit probably 30 drives and 30 iron shots with the one mizuno ball for testing and it still looks new. I haven’t put a wedge to it yet though.

You understand that the TP5X is a low spin ball? The opposite of the Titleist designation of the “X”.

Not sure about XV.
